We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Solution Architect to join our technology team, in our Worcester, MA office or remote work arrangement consideration. POSITION OVERVIEW: The Senior Solutions Architect (SA) provides leadership and guidance for solution design across complex projects and programs. This role is responsible for defining high-level architecture, ensuring alignment with business objectives, and driving technology innovation. The SA guides projects on their overall high level solution approach, engagement with the broader project team, and represents the solution design at the formal architecture review and approvals meeting. The SA is the owner of the project solution architecture process and solution architecture artifacts. The ideal candidate will have strong API and integration experience, a solid Java development background, and experience designing or working with AI-powered solutions. Familiarity with Underwriting Workbench solutions and related integrations is a significant plus. This is a full time, exempt role. IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL: Drive end-to-end solution architecture for initiatives, ensuring scalability, security, and performance. Author and maintain architecture documentation, including Technical Approach and Design as well as Technical Solution Analysis and Recommendation for Architecture Review Board. Lead API strategy and integration design, including RESTful services and enterprise integration patterns. Provide architectural guidance for applications, frameworks, and microservices. Collaborate with business and technical teams to design solutions that meet both functional and non-functional requirements. Evaluate and incorporate AI-powered technologies into solutions to enhance automation and decision-making. Mentor junior architects and developers, promoting best practices and architectural standards. Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture principles and governance processes. Responsible for providing accurate estimates for all architecture involvement and efforts. Responsible for the tenants of project’s architecture (business architecture, application architecture, information architecture and technology architecture). Supports the business requirements development process to ensure the requirements are at the level and completeness necessary to complete design and solution delivery Responsible for reviewing and approving technical specifications; supports subsequent delivery processes to ensure solution meets business and architectural objectives as envisioned Ability to communicate both technically and conceptually to provide architecture leadership and guidance to business and technical team members throughout the course of the project Participates in POCs and Prototyping research pre-project work, and creation of new patterns and approaches Responsible for Software Portfolio conformance within the division (Get Current/Stay Current) WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY: Bachelor's degree in computer science, system analysis or a related study, or equivalent experience. Master’s degree is preferred. Minimum of 10 years of technical experience with 3 years as a Solution Architect or Tech Lead capacity Must be eligible to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future (i.e Lawful Permanent Residence or US Citizen) Exposure to multiple, diverse business systems, technologies and processing environments Solution design, reference architecture and development experience Exposure to AI-powered solutions and modern architecture patterns. Proven experience in API integration and Java development. Hands-on experience with Spring framework and ORM technologies (Hibernate, JPA). Hands-on experience with cloud solution architecture and migration strategies. Experience designing and implementing cloud-based solutions, preferably on Microsoft Azure. Hands on experience working with various database management systems. (SQL Server and Oracle preferred) Experience with Underwriting Workbench or similar insurance platforms is highly desirable. Broad understanding of Property/Casualty insurance systems (preferred). Exposure to PEGA platform for User Interface, Workflow and Business Rule Engine use cases (Preferred).
