Assistant Manager, Offsite Warehouse Position Summary The Assistant Manager, Offsite Warehouse, oversees the department's daily operations, including staff and program participant management, interactions with donors, dispatch responsibilities for donation truck drivers and riders, warehouse management, and all inbound and outbound product movement and disposition to the facilities. The Assistant Manager must hold to the mission, vision, and core values of The Foundry. The Assistant Manager must be willing to sign The Foundry's Statement of Faith. The Assistant Manager reports directly to the Pelham General Manager and is responsible for upholding the policies set forth by the Board of Directors. The Assistant Manager's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the duties defined in this responsibility description. Responsibility Description Management - Staff: Coach and mentor staff to meet professional development goals. Manage the team workflow by planning workloads, allocating tasks, and monitoring progress against goals. Oversee staff schedules to maintain coverage during all hours of operation within your department. Review and approve time cards and PTO requests to meet the established weekly approval schedule. Communicate with team members regarding new initiatives, policy revisions, and ministry updates. Maintain safety standards by complying with operational objectives, ministry training, and reporting procedures. Be responsible for relaying and confirming receipt of all Foundry-wide emergency messages to those in your department. Management - Digital Dispatching: Ensure the dispatching program is running and correctly dispatched to all drivers, donors, and management. Properly train all staff and program participants to use the technology associated with our donation process correctly. Partner with the Pelham General Manager to develop strategies to meet departmental quotas. Maintain a rotating schedule to maximize our donations within the donation area. Process daily reports as required. Management -Dispatch: Relay work orders, messages, and information to and from drivers, other staff members, and donors. Oversee GPS tracking and phones and coordinate pickup and delivery routes. Establish standards of conduct and oversee interactions between drivers and dispatchers. Ensure that department policies and procedures are communicated and met. Investigate and inquire about concerns with delivery locations and resolve customer complaints. Ensure schedules are met, and deliveries are completed promptly. Assist with donation truck driver and rider training. Coordinate with vendors for all issues related to PM and truck repairs. Complete and submit incident and accident reports within 24 hours of the issue. Management - Warehouse: Supervise program participants assigned to the warehouse, staff, and collection areas, as well as the daily cleaning inside and outside the building. Supervision includes: o training o encouraging o collaborating with program directors on G.R.O.W. actions according to ministry and Enterprise rules and regulations Facilitate and supervise the daily loading and unloading of trucks from the store, from initial setup to clean up. Responsible for ensuring contracted waste removal containers are serviced according to schedule and as needed. Responsible for scheduling and loading all recycled items. Responsible for scheduling and managing monthly bale loads. Responsible for opening, closing, and securing all warehouse gates and doors. Responsible for opening and closing the store as assigned. Management - Training: Train and supervise program participants assigned to the warehouse in handling merchandise for stores, sales, recycling, and discarding. Train and supervise staff and program participants assigned to the warehouse in forklift operation and safety. Train and supervise staff and program participants assigned to the warehouse in baling machine operation and safety. Employment Readiness: Train program participants assigned to the warehouse on department rules and regulations. Provide workforce training to participants in soft skills and technical skills as applicable. Follow program guidelines regarding interactions with and oversight of program participants assigned to the warehouse. Treat each program participant with dignity and professionalism. Communicate issues and concerns regarding program participants to management. Maintain program participant confidentiality at all times. Qualifications and Education: Education: High School Diploma, High School Equivalency Certificate, or GED Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of management experience Requirements: The Foundry's insurance carrier must approve a valid state-issued driver's license. Able to use a computer/tablet to perform job duties. Knowledge of safe lifting/carrying guidelines and other basic safety protocols. Must be able to work required overtime as assigned by the General Manager, including but not limited to evening shifts and special events. Physical demands of this position include extensive driving, walking, and climbing in and out of the vehicle; lifting 50 pounds regularly; transporting donations to and from various locations in all weather conditions; and wearing personal protective equipment such as gloves and work boots. You must be able to bend, stoop, crouch, and climb ladders up to 12 feet in height. You must be able to work in a production and warehouse environment, including exposure to dust and fluctuating temperatures. You must express yourself verbally and accurately, loudly, or quickly convey verbal instructions. You must hear and understand speech in person, via telephone, or other devices, and recognize work-associated sounds such as vehicle horns or emergency sirens. You must have near and far visual acuity and clear peripheral vision. Organization and time management skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Proven ability to resolve issues calmly and efficiently. Comfortable presenting information in person or via various communication channels (telephone, email, social media). Servant leader.
