ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY THE FEDERALIST SOCIETY The Federalist Society, a DC-based non-profit organization that facilitates legal and public policy debate on a national level, seeks an Assistant Director, Information Technology, to provide frontline technical support and ensure smooth operation of technology in our Washington office. This role fields and resolves help desk requests, performs device setup and auditing, manages user accounts, and serves as backup to the IT Director for critical tasks. This position reports to the Vice President, Information Technology. Compensation will be commensurate with experience. WHAT YOU'LL DO: Respond to help desk inquiries and troubleshoot hardware/software issues. Configure and maintain office devices, including desktops and peripherals. Manage user accounts and access permissions across Google Workspace, Microsoft Office 365, and other third-party applications. Track and audit technology inventory and oversee updates for office devices. Coordinate with vendors and service providers for IT needs. Train new employees on IT systems, policies, and procedures during employee onboarding. Support the VP & Director of IT in various technology projects and act as backup when needed. WHAT YOU'LL NEED: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. 0-3 years in IT support or systems administration. College/University helpdesk experience is appreciated! Familiarity with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and Adobe products. Strong problem-solving skills and customer service mindset. Meticulous approach to documentation procedures. Willingness to learn new skills and tools on the job as needed. Familiarity with common office technology and basic networking concepts. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively. WHERE YOU’LL WORK: We are located in the heart of the District of Columbia, only three blocks from the White House and across the street from the Farragut West Metro Station with easy access to the Washington D.C. Metro area. Our office observes a hybrid work schedule of Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday in office and the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
