High school diploma, experience with inbound receiving and warehouse operations, strong communication skills, and proficiency in MS Excel; bilingual Spanish preferred but not required.
COMPANY Our client is a 30+ year old 3PL with over 10 locations, 5 million sq. feet of warehousing space across the United States. The core focus of their business is B2B and D2C for clients within the retail, apparel, furniture, and home goods industries. LOCATION Ontario, California SUMMARY This role monitors all inbound receiving for the Facility. This includes ocean containers, air freight, inbound parcel/returns and loose freight. The Receiving Manager ensures that inbound processes are followed for all customer accounts and associated SOP‘s and controls related to pallet building, pallet identification, inventory control and put away are followed consistently. Qualified candidates will be able to plan, schedule, monitor, direct and execute the end-to-end, day-to-day receiving activities, labor planning and shifting resources as needed to adjust to changing business requirements. They will be able to plan using customer forecasts and flex schedules to support seasonality in a cost effective and service-oriented manner. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: • Works with facility management to plan labor – balancing planning and adjustments, SLAs, and company’s targets; includes handling uncertainties and emergencies against customer service level agreements • Interacts and maintains a good working relationship with customers, as needed • Ensures that team is knowledgeable on necessary and expected processes and ensures that processes are followed in an efficient, appropriate, and professional manner • Uses coaching approach, can teach, and explain SOP’s and processes. Knows how to hold associates accountable and instill a culture of discipline • Communicates customer feedback to management, including any signs of dissatisfaction • Coordinates efforts of team members to allocate resources to support business needs • Organizes and problem-solves given uncertainties that may present themselves • Test and provide feedback on IT tools and opportunities to enhance to improve efficiency and customer experience • Superior organization skills and ability to follow-up consistently in fast-paced, changing work environment. • Exceptional follow-through and communication skills. Ability to follow-up and communicate pro-actively, without reminders. Updates customers and internal partners without prompting. Other Education, formal training, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other characteristics which are desired for this position: • Experience and familiarity with inbound receiving of containers, inbound parcel/returns receiving, high SKU-count/sort cans, use of conveyors, RF scanning and quality control aspects of world class receiving operation, including key performance indicators of associated with receiving and timely put away for the retail sector • Background in multi-client, 3PL operation preferred • Familiar with WMS systems • Proficient in MS Excel • Desire to grow in role and advance as company grows. Strong desire to learn, build skills. • Strong communication skills, passionate about creating value to organization and customer needs.
