Participate in weekly clinical trial runs, review and critique research data, collaborate with other interns, and support AI/VR behavioral health platform development.
Currently studying psychology, counseling, or related behavioral sciences with availability for weekly sessions and a passion for mental health innovation.
An intern has left the program and therefore we have an opening for our internship for the fall. The Commons XR delivers immersive, AI-powered behavioral health experiences that improve mental wellness, enhances clinical efficiency, provides visual progress graphs, as well as fostering an inclusive, culturally competent environment for diverse and neurodivergent communities. We strive to make Evidence-Based Treatment (EBT) better. We are looking for someone aspiring to be in the counseling or mental health space (especially if you have some clinical experience) that are doing/have done psychology or counseling training, and are able to review, comment and critique our process, data, and research, based on our trial runs every Friday (9-11 AM PST). If you are in BCBA, CBT or similar programs, this might be a good fit. In some school districts, school counselors have a critical role in ensuring schools provide a safe, caring environment. Our product is built with all of this in mind to assist with social and emotional well-being, whether they are physical, remote or hybrid. The platform can also be used for on premises or telehealth or hybrid (both together) counseling, while obtaining analytic and observational data to better help with assessments and alignment with treatment goals. It was built with privacy in mind, so a group can be counseled while maintaining anonymity between patients. We produce graphical analytic data for each patient and for the therapist. You may be able to run one of our VR experiences (no headset required) during our Friday 9AM PST runs (You must be available every Friday from 9-11AM PST). You will be working with our other interns as a group. We are on the forefront of technology (AI and VR), telehealth and mental health. Come see what the future holds for you! Key aspects we’d be looking for: • Knowledge of or studies in neuroscience and/or behavioral sciences. • Knowledge of foundational therapy types (CBT, BCBA, Group therapy, etc) • Desire in designing clinical trials to examine findings. • Comfortable with fields of education, psychology, and/or social sciences. Nice to have: • Experience in designing clinical trials to examine findings. • Conducting interdisciplinary research, ideally in the fields of education, psychology, applied mathematics, and/or social sciences. • Experience researching in either an academia or industry setting. • Ability to collate research articles and notate key insights. • Willingness to present research findings to the team and discuss new directions in research, data, and other departments. • Experience with Grants.gov (we are also open to grant opportunities with educational institutions in this space). Finally, you should have the passion to want to make a difference in this space; we want to make a difference along with you!
