Title: Back-end Web Developer Organization: The Chad Foundation for Athletes and Artists Location: Remote Position Type: Unpaid Internship Hours: 2 to 4 weeks maximum About The Chad Foundation: The Chad Foundation for Athletes and Artists is a mission-driven non-profit dedicated to increasing awareness of Sudden Cardiac Death in Young Athletes and Students, committed to safeguarding young hearts, and providing Art that inspires and heals making a positive impact on the community. We are seeking a talented Back-End Web Developer to join our team and contribute to our important work. This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity that offers valuable experience for someone passionate about web development and making a difference. Job Description: The Chad Foundation is seeking a Volunteer Backend Developer capable of integrating a Payment Donor System, such as Stripe, into our new website with an accompanying donor database. The ideal candidate: Has real-world professional experience with secure payment integration, preferably nonprofit experience Knows React (as our frontend is built in React) Has excellent communication skills and does not miss deadlines. Resonates with The Chad Foundation's Mission to safeguard young hearts: Healthy Body, Mind, and Spirit Is dedicated and trustworty and can commit to seeing the project through its completion Duration: 2 - 4 weeks (approximately). Key Responsibilities: 1. Collaborate with our Front-end Developer to translate the Donate page in line with the current design concepts and create a functional and user-friendly Donate page with React.js. 2. Develop the Donate Page, ensuring optimization for speed, accessibility, and responsiveness across various devices. 3. Assist in implementing design changes, updates, and improvements to enhance the user experience. 4. Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that may arise on the website. 5. Ensure the website complies with best practices for SEO and web performance. 6. It would be necessary that you know how to link payment to our website and make it secure. using standard, non-profit industry formats such as Stripe. 7. Create accompanying Donor Database for Donation Page Requirements: ● Proficiency in Web Development, focusing on React.js, JSX, CSS/SCSS. ● Working knowledge of Responsive Web Development and Figma. ● Experience in Payment Integration and database management. ● A strong passion to learn and grow in Web Development. ● Excellent communication and teamwork skills. ● Ability to work independently and manage your time effectively. ● A commitment to the organization’s mission and values. ● Access to a computer and internet connection for remote work.
