Purpose of Role Responsible for serving as the enterprise steward of brand credibility, reputation, and narrative, ensuring alignment with legal, regulatory, and mortgage-finance industry best practices. Defines how the company is perceived by consumers, partners, regulators, media, employees, and the broader financial ecosystem by establishing and maintaining brand trust, clarity, and consistency while enabling organizational growth. Leverages deep customer insight, competitive intelligence, and market research to guide brand marketing and communications strategies. Partners closely with the Chief Marketing Officer, executive leadership, and cross-functional teams to advance enterprise priorities and strengthen market position. Key Responsibilities and Expectations • Defines and leads the company's long-term brand strategy, positioning, and messaging framework, and serves as a strategic adviser to the executive leadership team. • Ensures the brand strategy improves performance efficiency across the full marketing funnel, increases partner confidence, and builds enterprise value. • Plans, oversees, and monitors brand advertising campaigns, ensuring all brand advertising is informed by target segment and customer insights. • Analyzes competitor positioning to develop and implement strategies that strengthen market share. • Partners with agencies and vendors to establish brand KPIs, analyze performance, and optimize campaigns. • Oversees creative excellence across the entire marketing funnel and owns the development and execution of creative for all marketing channels, ensuring creative is on-brand, effective, and appropriately versioned to optimize performance and meet KPIs. • Champions a test-and-learn culture within brand and creative teams and actively monitors campaign performance to identify optimization opportunities and resolve issues. • Oversees planning, operations, project management, budgeting, and reporting for all brand and creative work. • Owns the enterprise communications, public relations, and thought leadership strategy. • Shapes the company’s voice on issues relevant to key audiences in close partnership with the CMO and executive leadership. • Ensures communications and PR activity are aligned with measurable business KPIs where possible. • Serves as the executive lead during reputational, regulatory, or crisis situations in partnership with Legal and Compliance. • Acts as a senior spokesperson and counselor to executives and supports executive communications, including keynotes, media engagement, internal messaging, and leadership narratives. • Establishes and governs enterprise-wide brand and messaging standards that meet regulatory requirements while remaining clear and customer-focused. • Partners deeply with Legal and Compliance to maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, standards of conduct and ethics, and related policies and procedures to ensure adherence. • Creates efficient review and approval frameworks with Legal and Compliance partners and proactively anticipates reputational and regulatory risk. • Ensures all communications are accurate, compliant, and aligned with company values. • Builds and leads a senior team across brand, creative, communications, and PR, managing staff to achieve business and individual goals through training, development, performance management, and recognition. • Influences enterprise decisions beyond marketing by providing insight into brand perception, sentiment, trust, and risk. • Performs other duties as assigned. Reports To Chief Marketing Officer Qualifications - Experience/Skills/Competencies • Minimum 15 years of senior leadership experience in brand, communications and corporate marketing, with a minimum 5 years of experience in progressively senior leadership roles. • Prior SVP-level or equivalent leadership in financial services or other highly regulated industries. • Strategic thinker with the ability to operate at altitude and in detail. • Track record of instilling data-driven decision making across teams, while staying credible and decisive in moments of ambiguity. • Experience with vendor RFP and selection process, contract negotiation and management. • Experience partnering with C-suite, legal, compliance and cross-functional teams. • Proven consulting skills to conceptualize, analyze, derive insights from data, and design an execution plan based on analysis results. • Knowledge of industry advertising and social media guidelines, procedures, and legal and regulatory requirements. • Business acumen, leadership, and data-driven decision-making skills to develop or enhance business strategies, plans, policies, and programs. • Interpersonal, oral, and written communication, presentation, negotiation, and coaching skills with tact and diplomacy. • Project management, organizational, prioritization, and time management skills with attention to detail. • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and MS Publisher.
