Design and launch a full-support residential program for adults with disabilities, including program design, staffing, training, budgeting, and coordination of services.
Undergraduate degree preferred in Special Education, Social Work or related field, experience with direct care for high medical needs populations, leadership, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
The Brookwood Community is a God-centered, non-profit community for Adults with Disabilities. We are seeking an energetic, enthusiastic leader to design and launch our new full-support residential program for Citizens with the highest medical and physical needs. This role will begin with program design and quickly move into implementation—hiring and motivating staff, coordinating services, and creating innovative programming across new and existing Type B homes. Responsibilities • Survey comparable facilities nationally for best practice programming for individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities to determine programming type, staffing levels and equipment support. • Create program that would identify the number of full- assistance Citizens that could be supported by Brookwood programs, staffing support required, programming that could be offered and financial requirements. • This person will play a key role in recruiting and onboarding Home Managers and Residential Assistants for the Full Support Homes. • Identify facility space and equipment at the Brookwood campus that could service the needs of these Citizens. • Identify training needed for current Brookwood staff who would participate in the programming, and new roles that would need to be created and staffed or contracted (along with skills required). • Identify grant opportunities that could be used to support implementing the full assistance program. • Work with senior leadership project the costs involved to implement the program and to meet individual support plans and determine base tuition and fee requirements. • Work with the admissions department to create a specific application for the full assistance program that includes all the information required to support those Citizens. • Work with admissions to identify individuals who will enter the program from current Citizens and new Citizens. • Create programming to meet the physical, psychosocial, educational, and spiritual needs of each Citizen in the full assistance program. • Prepare job descriptions for the positions determined to be needed to support the full-support program. • Work with the Citizen Life Team to create training materials for any new positions needed for the full support program. • After thorough research and hands-on experience in The Brookwood Way will provide educated input on staffing and equipment needs to maintain the growth and evolution of the full support program. • This person will be expected to complete medication administration training. • This person will assume the responsibility of the Director of Residential in their absence. Qualifications/Education • Education: Undergraduate degree (preferred) or operational experience in the field of Special Education, Social Work or other related therapeutic genre. • Experience: Experience-based knowledge of the physical, mental and social needs of special-needs populations.
