Requires a JD, license to practice law, 5+ years of legal experience, and expertise in nonprofit law, finance law, HR compliance, and leadership.
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Chief Legal Officer volunteer to join our team. As Legal Counsel, you will serve as the principal legal advisor providing expert guidance on legal, regulatory, and risk management matters to ensure compliance with applicable laws and the highest standards of legal and ethical responsibility. You’ll play a key role in expanding the Brickers Foundation’s reach and impact by extending meaningful relationships with potential sponsors and non-profit partners.You’ll be the bridge between our mission and the organizations that are providing impact in communities. Duties • Develop and oversee legal strategy for the Brickers Foundation. • Advise CEO, Board of Directors, and executive leadership on governance, compliance, and regulatory issues. • Manage legal documentation, contracts, and external counsel relationships. • Lead and mentor legal (finance, compliance and HR) team members • Ensure adherence to governance regulations and fiduciary responsibilities. Requirements • Education: J.D. from accredited law school. • Licensure: Must be licensed to practice law • Experience: 5 years as a licensed attorney. • Bring structure and organization to complex and fast-moving priorities • Expertise in non-profit law, finance law, HR compliance, litigation, and strong leadership and communication skills.
