Job Title: Public Relations/Marketing Internship Company Overview: The Borgen Project is a leading international nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing global poverty and improving living conditions for those affected by war, famine, and economic hardship. With over 20 years of experience in advocacy and political engagement, we work closely with policymakers to create meaningful change worldwide. Role Overview: As a Public Relations/Marketing Intern, you will play a vital role in supporting our advocacy efforts by helping to craft compelling messages and campaigns that raise awareness about global poverty issues. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit communications and advocacy while contributing to a cause that makes a real difference. What You'll Do: - You will assist in developing and implementing public relations and marketing campaigns to promote The Borgen Project’s mission. - You will create engaging content for social media platforms, newsletters, and the organization’s website. - You will support media outreach efforts, including drafting press releases and coordinating with journalists. - You will help monitor and analyze the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and suggest improvements. - You will collaborate with team members to organize events and advocacy initiatives. - You will conduct research on current global issues to inform communication strategies. - You will assist in maintaining and updating the organization’s media contact database. What You Bring: - You have completed or are pursuing a degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field. - You possess strong written and verbal communication skills. - You have experience with social media platforms and content creation. - You are detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills. - You demonstrate a passion for global issues and nonprofit work. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience with graphic design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite or Canva. - Familiarity with media monitoring and analytics tools. - Previous internship or volunteer experience in nonprofit communications. - Knowledge of international development or advocacy work.
