Role Overview: As a Public Relations/Marketing Intern, you will play a vital role in supporting our advocacy efforts by helping to craft compelling messages and campaigns that engage the public and policymakers. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit communications and advocacy while contributing to meaningful global change. What You'll Do: - You will assist in developing and executing public relations and marketing campaigns to promote The Borgen Project’s mission. - You will create engaging content for social media, newsletters, and other communication channels. - You will support media outreach efforts, including drafting press releases and coordinating with journalists. - You will help monitor and analyze campaign performance and public engagement metrics. - You will collaborate with team members to brainstorm and implement innovative advocacy strategies. - You will assist in organizing events and webinars to raise awareness and support. - You will conduct research on current global issues to inform communication strategies. What You Bring: - You have at least 1 year of experience or coursework in public relations, marketing, communications, or a related field. - You possess strong written and verbal communication skills. - You are proficient with social media platforms and content creation tools. - You have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. - You are passionate about global issues and eager to learn about advocacy work. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience with graphic design or video editing software. - Familiarity with nonprofit organizations and advocacy campaigns. - Previous internship or volunteer experience in communications or marketing. - Knowledge of international development or humanitarian issues.
