Job Title: Public Relations/Marketing Internship Company Overview: The Borgen Project is a leading international nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing global poverty and improving living conditions for those affected by war, famine, and economic hardship. With over 20 years of experience in advocacy and political engagement, we strive to influence policy and raise awareness to create lasting change worldwide. Role Overview: As a Public Relations/Marketing Intern, you will play a vital role in supporting our advocacy efforts by helping to craft compelling messages and campaigns that engage the public and policymakers. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit communications and marketing while contributing to a meaningful cause. What You'll Do: - You will assist in developing and executing public relations campaigns that promote The Borgen Project’s mission. - You will create engaging content for social media platforms, newsletters, and press releases. - You will support media outreach efforts by compiling press lists and tracking coverage. - You will help organize events and coordinate with partners to maximize advocacy impact. - You will monitor and analyze campaign performance metrics to inform future strategies. - You will collaborate with team members to brainstorm creative ideas and improve communication efforts. - You will conduct research on current global issues to support content development. What You Bring: - You have at least 1 year of experience or coursework in public relations, marketing, communications, or a related field. - You possess strong written and verbal communication skills. - You are proficient with social media platforms and basic content creation tools. - You demonstrate excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. - You have a passion for global issues and nonprofit advocacy. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience with graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite. - Familiarity with media monitoring and analytics tools. - Previous internship or volunteer experience in a nonprofit or advocacy organization. - Multilingual abilities or experience working in international contexts.
