Systems Engineer (Associate, Mid-Level or Senior) Company: The Boeing Company Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a Systems Engineer (Associate, Mid-Level or Senior) to support our Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) team in Everett, Washington. We are specifically looking for candidates who are interested in contributing to the development of our SE&I tools, in the areas of Interface Control Definition (ICD), Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and cross-tool model integration that will be key aspects of designing our future new airplane products and derivatives across the BCA and the Boeing Enterprise. The SE&I team is uniquely positioned to advance Boeing’s approach to organizing large-scale, complex aerospace objectives and connecting the teams and data with digital solutions. The team, including this role, collaborates and influences the digital transformation journey through implementation of modern software technology and model-based methods across the entire Boeing Enterprise - including Product Development, Defense Systems, and Commercial Airplanes. The team is looking for passionate, innovative, experienced engineers with a background in Systems Engineering and eager to make a positive impact on the future of The Boeing Company. In this role, you, in collaboration with fellow engineers and software developers, will be responsible for leading cross functional global teams in the capture, validation, implementation, and verification of capabilities and requirements of the ICD and MBSE tools. You will collaborate with and provide visibility to project leadership, plan and manage the team’s backlog, and guide teammates in systems engineering and tool development principles and processes. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative team environment, have experience in both systems engineering and software application design, and be familiar with the design of airplane systems. Position Responsibilities: Collaborates with cross-functional global teams to define, implement, and test new tool capabilities and integrations Applies an interdisciplinary, inclusive approach to analyses, design, development, and verification of lifecycle-balanced system-of-systems and system solutions, both for our SE&I tools themselves and via the application of those tools to Boeing’s products Develops information for selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements Leads the development and definition of a product or system architecture by creating validated sets of requirements, identifying system/component interfaces, and addressing multiple stakeholder/customer viewpoints Establishes standards and guidelines for model-based integration across multi-disciplinary modeling domains Works within a SAFe Agile framework. Collaborates with Information Technology (IT) architects and data architects to define future software / tool architectures and capabilities that align with business goals Evaluates and recommends new technologies, tools, and methodologies to improve system performance and efficiency Ensures technical content is timely, coordinated, and accurate Provides technical leadership and guidance to early career systems engineers, sharing knowledge and best practices Key skills to be successful in this role: Experience in requirements development, validation, and verification Knowledge of coding language and databases such as Python, Gitlab, MarkLogic, Neptune, GraphDB, and/or user interface design Software test planning and execution Airplane systems design Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly identify and resolve technical issues across multiple functional organizations Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and leadership Project management skills and experience Open to new ideas and willing to challenge teams to think differently This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site at one of the listed location options.
