Full Description

The Davis Academy, an independent Kindergarten Prep - Eight Grade school in Dunwoody/Sandy Springs, is seeking a Middle School Teaching Assistant Floater. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience. Salary based on experience. SUMMARY Helps with supervision, instruction and student activities as assigned by the administration. Assists school administrators and staff with various administrative and clerical functions as requested. In the absence of a lead teacher, assumes the lead role in a designated classroom. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. • Implements designated curriculum as assigned by teacher. • Guides independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work set up and assigned by the teacher. • Provides feedback and positive reinforcement to students. • Implements appropriate classroom management procedures. • Assumes responsibility for supervising students in out of class settings including emergency drills, assemblies, field trips, lunchtime, and recess. • Engages in professional growth. • Perform any other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS • BS or BA degree • Interacts in a professional manner with students and parents. • Maintains confidentiality of student information and records. • Works cooperatively with school administrators, special support personnel, colleagues, and parents. • Accepts supervision and constructive criticism objectively. • Demonstrates good judgment in handling school related incidents and events. • Refers questions about the class and students from parents to the teacher.
