Job Summary The Facilities Project Architect will project manage the design of new buildings and remodels for The Aerospace Corporation (TAC). The Project Architect will work with the various TAC groups to define project scope and create conceptual designs, rough order cost estimates and design schedule. The Facilities Project Architect will work with outside design consultants to complete the design within the developed schedule and budget. The Architect will also work with various groups in developing and maintaining the corporate design standards. The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility in El Segundo, CA or Chantilly, VA. What You’ll Be Doing Prepares design and engineering SOWs for obtaining proposals from outside designers and engineers. Meet with space users to define and document project requirements Prepare Architectural Conceptual Layouts as required to define area and budget for project requirements. Reviews drawings and specifications for conformance with company standards and code requirements. Coordinates city plan check and permit process and works with city building officials to process plans through plan check Develops conceptual design and space planning drawings, construction documents and specifications in compliance with applicable codes and local regulations based on customer needs. Interface and provide technical support to the Construction Project Leaders and contractors during construction phase of the projects. Coordinates and reviews the work of architectural and engineering consultants. Assists in the selection process of outside design consultants and interface on a daily basis with customers regarding project status, project requirements, project approval and coordination with other departments. What You Need to be Successful Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture 10 or more years of relevant experience with Design Project Management Experience with construction blueprints and cost projections Experience with architectural design and space planning Experience in Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel This position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
