Job summary: The Ad Council is looking for an Assistant Manager, Marketing & Communications who will play a key role in creating, crafting and driving the overarching communications strategies for the Ad Council’s social impact campaigns. This position will also focus on social media management for the Ad Council brand, including thought leadership opportunities and collaborations with brand partners. The position will focus on helping manage PR and social media strategies (both B2B and B2C) to extend the reach and impact of our brand and our national social impact campaigns. This opportunity is perfect for someone who loves brand social, has strong written and oral communication skills, is a great project manager, has an appetite for learning the latest in social media and PR trends, and is passionate about social change. Compensation: The compensation for this position is within the range of $64,000 - $66,000 annually (based on experience level). This role is eligible to earn overtime, and the compensation package also includes an annual incentive, comprehensive benefit offerings, and generous paid time off. What you’ll do: Assist the team in the development and implementation of PR/social media programs (including managing external agencies and freelancers) designed to extend the reach of a social good issue, including participating in brainstorms, drafting plans, and project managing day-to-day implementation of tactics. Update Ad Council campaign managers and clients on public relations and social media activities, opportunities, and strategies. Draft press releases, talking points, pitches, speeches, blog posts, and social media posts. Assist with day-to-day activities such as background research on reporters, bloggers and potential spokespeople. Various administrative duties including processing SOWs, tracking billings, etc. Collaborate with our website content team to make minor content changes in our CMS. Ideate, draft and manage approvals for social media content for the Ad Council brand (primary channels include LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram). Support management of editorial calendar, coverage of tentpole brand events, and other special projects. Travels occasionally (5%) to support in-person campaign launches, thought leadership opportunities, content shoots, and team time/events. What you’ll bring: 1+ years’ experience in a social media, corporate communications, public relations, journalism or another relevant role Excellent verbal and written communication skills – can adjust copy to various audiences/media Social Media and PR savvy – fluency with public relations tactics and deliverables and social strategies across a range of platforms Keen strategic thinking and problem-solving skills Great self-management ability – organized and detail-oriented with a capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented, deadline-driven environment Team player – ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with staff within and outside of the department Strong computer skills, experience with MS Office and Google applications Passion for social good causes, volunteering, and/or philanthropy a plus What you’ll get: All full-time Ad Council employees are eligible for: Full remote work arrangements; Robust and flexible time off; Parental/Caregiver leave; Health days.
