As a Strategic Coordination Project Manager, you will play a key role in planning, implementing, and evaluating cross-program and cross-agency project initiatives. About the Job • The Process Improvement Unit (PIU) Strategic Coordination Project Manager works under the direction of the Director of the Process Improvement Unit in the Office of Compliance and System Coordination (OCSC). • This position is responsible for managing DSHS special projects, utilizing project management tools in coordination with agency business and program units. • The PM facilitates work groups and compiles and analyzes information to develop project recommendations and reports. Essential Job Functions • Serves as project manager and lead for the development of the agency's strategic and operational plans. • Provides technical assistance to all functional divisions and programmatic areas within DSHS for the development of their area's strategic and operational initiatives. • Leads the agency in planning for the agency's submission of its formal strategic plan. • Develops all necessary documents as dictated by the State Legislative Budget Board (LBB), legislature, and Office of the Governor. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) • Knowledge of public health and healthcare policy issues, systems of service, and programs. • Project management methodology/tools. • Organizational development and management practices as applied to the analysis and evaluation of programs and procedures. This is a full-time exempt position. Regular travel may be required up to 20% of the time. You must have a valid driver's license or have access to reliable transportation that meets the requirements of the job.
