Rosenberg Railroad Museum – Education Program Manager Location: Rosenberg, TX | Employment: Full-time, Salaried Exempt ($36,500–$38,500) Schedule: Wed–Sat & half-days Sun, occasional Tues | Reports To: Executive Director About Us The Rosenberg Railroad Museum preserves and shares the history of railroads in Fort Bend County, Texas. We provide engaging programs for all ages, from school groups to adult learners, combining history, STEM/STEAM concepts, and interactive exhibits. Position Summary The Education Program Manager develops, implements, and leads educational programs and interpretive experiences for diverse audiences. This role integrates TEKS-aligned curriculum and STEAM concepts, designs tours, creates engaging programs, and collaborates with museum staff, volunteers, and community partners. Key Responsibilities • Develop and lead educational programs and curriculum aligned with TEKS and STEAM concepts. • Design and conduct engaging interpretive museum tours. • Collaborate to enhance exhibits and interpretive materials. • Exercise independent judgment in teaching methods, activities, and program adaptations. • Represent the Museum at community and educational events. • Track program outcomes and report to Executive Director. • Guide volunteers and seasonal staff in program delivery. • Create, manage, and update website and social media content (including Canva). • Develop new programs (Merit Badge classes, festivals, adult learning opportunities). • Perform other duties supporting museum goals and strategy. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Museum Studies, Education, or related field, or equivalent experience. Master’s is a plus. • 1–3 years’ experience in educational or museum settings. • Certification or willing to get certified: Safeguarding Youth Training (SYT) & Merit Badge counselor registration (Scouting America). • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. • Ability to plan age-appropriate activities for children and adults. • Proficient in MS Office, social media, and Canva. • Ability to lift 25 lbs., climb stairs, walk on uneven ground, and stand/walk up to 2 hours. • Able to travel locally within Houston area up to 5%. • Must pass a background check.
