We are seeking a Career Support Services Project Manager to support the United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) Department of Career Services. So, what will the Career Support Services Project Manager at Terrestris do? As the Career Support Services Project Manager (PM) you will serve as the key personnel lead responsible for the successful execution, coordination, reporting, and quality assurance of all tasks under the Maritime Administration MARAD/USMMA Career Services, Workforce Development, and Outreach Support program. The PM ensures alignment with federal requirements, oversees multi-academy engagement, manages deliverable schedules, and coordinates all personnel, reporting, and stakeholder relationships to deliver a high-performing, compliant program. This role requires deep maritime industry experience, extensive stakeholder engagement capabilities, and the ability to manage complex, multi-year federal programs supporting USMMA and State Maritime Academies. What does a typical day look like for the Career Support Services Project Manager? You will: Develop, maintain, and execute project deliverables including the PMP, biannual assessments, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, workforce module, etc. Implement a quality management approach to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of every deliverables Enforce compliance with federal data protection requirements; ensure all program data remains MARAD property Supervise Program Leads (Career Services, Workforce Development, K-12 Outreach), Outreach Specialists, and administrative personnel. Assign tasks, validate work products, and ensure team alignment with contract performance standards Serve as primary liaison to MARAD, USMMA, and State Maritime Academies. Manage communications and engagement with unions, industry partners, educational institutions, and other maritime stakeholders when necessary. What qualifications do you look for? You might be the project manager we’re looking for if you have: Authorization to work in the United States permanently without sponsorship. A minimum of (10) years of maritime experience. Experience collaborating with various maritime industry stakeholders (maritime academies, labor unions, maritime associations, and industry employers). Experience managing federal contracts and/or complex, multi-site programs. Interpersonal and Communication skills. Demonstrated success engaging unions, vessel operators, academies, and government agencies. Excellent written communication for high-stakes reporting. Demonstrated industry expertise in The Strategic Sealift Midshipmen Program (SSMP), Employment trends in U.S.-flag shipping, Maritime workforce pipeline development, and Maritime education and training ecosystems.
