About the position Responsibilities • Technical Leadership & Architecture • Architect, design, and implement scalable, secure, and compliant platform services across AWS and distributed edge environments. • Define technical roadmaps and system boundaries, ensuring reliability, resilience, and cost-efficiency across thousands of store nodes. • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for executive, business, and cross-functional audiences. • Lead architectural reviews, enforce best practices, and champion standards for security, observability, and maintainability. • Partner with product and platform teams to ensure technical alignment with business and operational goals. • Hands-On Engineering • Design and develop backend services, infrastructure tooling, and automation frameworks primarily in Go (Golang). • Build and evolve cloud-native microservices on AWS using ECS/EKS, EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, and CloudFormation/Terraform. • Implement Kubernetes-based orchestration and deployment pipelines optimized for edge and cloud environments. • Establish robust observability and tracing frameworks (OTEL, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog) for proactive detection and insights. • Conduct code reviews, debugging, and performance analysis, driving continuous improvement in code quality and stability. • Security, Compliance & Reliability • Ensure adherence to secure coding practices, encryption standards, and IAM principles. • Collaborate with security teams to implement vulnerability management, incident response, and compliance controls. • Apply DevSecOps and GitOps principles to automate and govern deployments. Requirements • Expert level proficiency in Golang for backend and infrastructure tooling • Deep experience with AWS services — EC2, ECS/EKS, S3, IAM, RDS, CloudFormation/Terraform, Secrets Manager, and Security Hub. • Strong hands-on knowledge of Kubernetes, including cluster lifecycle, deployments, and service management. • Proficient with logging, metrics, and tracing using Datadog, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and Grafana. • Understanding of VPC design, load balancing, DNS, API gateways, and service meshes (e.g., Istio or Linkerd). • Working knowledge of IAM, encryption, secure API design, vulnerability scanning, and compliance frameworks. • Experience with GitOps pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and automated build/deploy workflows (e.g., ArgoCD, Jenkins, GitHub Actions). • Leadership & Collaboration: 7–10 years of professional software development and infrastructure experience, with 2–3 years in technical leadership or lead engineer capacity.
