Lead and manage multi-workstream technology and business transformation programs with executive stakeholder engagement.
Experienced in organizational leadership, program governance, vendor oversight, and financial tracking but lacks specific law firm operational experience and advanced business degrees.
Responsibilities • Understand and advise the EC regarding all facets of Firm business, including financial performance and staff administration. • Participate in Executive Committee meetings; provide/answer questions regarding requested reports; provide and interpret standard operating reports; provide reports to the EC on all other matters of importance regarding the operation of the Firm. • Prepare/present on Firm performance or other relevant matters at meetings of the Firm's Equity Principals and/or other attorney meetings. • Serve as a resource to the Firm's Equity Principals concerning operations issues. • Develop and implement business initiatives, plans and procedures consistent with Firm culture and guidance from the EC. • Evaluate Firm performance by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics. • Lead non-attorney employees to encourage maximum performance and dedication. • Assist the EC in the evaluation and management of professional staff. • Oversee business and contractual relationships with vendors and suppliers (in consultation with the Firm's General Counsel, and/or EC, as deemed appropriate). • Participate/analyze Firm expansion opportunities (lateral legal professionals, mergers/acquisitions, new offices, etc.). • Oversee Firm office expansions and contractions, negotiate lease terms, and work with outside counsel on lease agreements and amendments (in consultation with the Firm's General Counsel, and/or EC, as deemed appropriate). • Inform the Firm's General Counsel on all Human Resource and other legal issues affecting the Firm, including actual or potential legal claims against the Firm and/or its professionals, and assist General Counsel in information and data collection. • Participate in other critical administrative committees such as Retirement Plan Committee, Technology Committee, Loss Prevention Committee, Attorney Review and Nominating Committee, and any other committee(s) as requested. • Understand the Firm's Operating Agreement to assure all aspects of Firm operations are in compliance. • Maintain a regular, scheduled (hybrid) in-office presence, with a periodic presence at regional offices, as business needs require. Requirements • Demonstrated organizational, management and leadership abilities; experience empowering and leading multi-functional teams. • Demonstrated experience in management and/or oversight of business operations, preferably including Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Business Development and Marketing. • Demonstrated experience in strategic business planning. • Working knowledge of business and financial reporting, performance metrics, and data analysis. • Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills. • Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving. • Ability to travel to regional offices regularly. • BSc/BA in Business Administration (emphasis in Management or Accounting preferred) or relevant field; MSc/MBA and/or CPA is preferred. • Law Firm experience preferred.
