Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, 5-10 years manufacturing experience with 3+ years leadership, bilingual English/Spanish, strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
As this role will support multiple plants in Mexico, being bilingual in English and Spanish is required for this role. Manage and coordinate the team responsible for the planning process in the business unit including consolidating forecast, operational planning, inventory planning and optimize production scheduling; taking into account network capacities and considers constraints, e.g. line capacity, labor, batch sizes, run rates, bottlenecks, planned downtime; having an understanding of our portfolio of products to provide to our customers the expected level of service under the company standards as to quality, safety, and profitability. Serves as primary conduit for fostering a work environment consistent with company philosophy and objectives. Job Responsibilities • Consolidate the base line forecast based on sales team input, sales historical data and market data applying statistical models, understanding and incorporating customer stock strategies at appropriate level of detail and horizon. • Understands and records demand drivers and assumptions behind baseline forecast • Influences cross functionally at all levels within the Sales, Inventory and Operations (SIOP) process • Operational Planning: Agrees Service Level Agreements with Supply Planning, Monitors customer OTIF risks, slow movers and potential obsolete SKUs and triggers corrective actions due to unexpected variations in demand • Derives Finished Goods (FGs) stock policy for safety stock, cycle stock, lead-time stock and contingency stock using inventory planning models by stock holding location • Creates and understands rough cut capacity plan (RCCP) understanding the planning parameters and assumptions e.g. changeovers, stock-building, warehouse constraints etc. • Prioritize the master production schedule based on customer and product stratification. Raise future capacity and stock issues considering constraints, e.g. line capacity, labor, batch sizes, run rates, bottlenecks, planned down time. Communicate it to the organization and its consequences to the business. • Lead improvement projects to contribute to the financial business unit results e.g. SKU’s rationalization, propose changes on current products/facilities plan program based on constant changing conditions of demand, customer locations, suppliers locations, plant restrictions, etc. • Create and communicate the detailed materials plan • Understands the financial consequences of the constrained supply plan and the underlying volume and financial assumptions, including risks and opportunities. Influences gap-closing proposals, agreeing relevant actions • Establishes and manages rules of service level agreements and allocation for demand and supply networks • Developing and Building Teams —Encouraging and building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members • Work closely with cross departmental teams to provide efficient and effective options to external and internal customers. • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and overseeing training processes. Maintain staff job results by planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching, counseling, appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems • Develop and track metrics, including external benchmarks, to monitor performance and allow for data-driven decision making. • Generate and monitoring KPIs defined for maintaining Logistic performance as company needed. Skills And Experience • Bilingual English/Spanish is required (this is supporting plants in Mexico) • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or related field required. Equivalent combination of education and experience 5-10 years. • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in multi plant manufacturing sites high volume production with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role. • Demonstrated team facilitation skills and success in implementing process improvements in conjunction with employee work teams. • Superior problem solving and solid analytical skills (quantitative and qualitative) • Ability to lead, motivate, select, train and instruct personnel. • Demonstrated ability to align and work with cross functional peers and teams. • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize workload. Must demonstrate strong decision-making skills, sound judgment and the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing work environment. • Good interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills. Ability to operate and communicate effectively in person, over the telephone, and in groups, under normal and stressful conditions. • Advance proficiency in Microsoft office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc). • Thorough understanding of planning, inventory management, warehouse operation and manufacturing capabilities. • Change Management / Continuous Improvement background • Project management – planning and execution • Budgetary planning experience • Travel 15-20% • Establishing and Maintaining Interpersonal Relationships — Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintaining them over time.
