Linux Tier 1 Support Engineer - Hybrid Role We're looking for a Linux Tier 1 Support Engineer who will serve as the first line of defense for a variety of technical issues, including networking, desktop support, and equipment troubleshooting. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a passion for solving problems, we want to hear from you. This is a hands-on, hybrid role. Expect one week per month to involve remote work on devices (e.g., resolving a routing issue), and the rest of the time will be on-site at a hospital ensuring the system lives smoothly. Location: Minneapolis, MN - Remote and onsite hybrid role with 25-50% travel sometimes to the north-western suburbs Employment: 6 month contract to hire What You'll Do • Be the frontline support for our U.S. (and occasionally global) customers. • Diagnose and resolve Linux and networking issues across distributed edge environments. • Collaborate closely with Tier 2/3 engineering to escalate and resolve complex cases. • Support on-site installs, updates, and troubleshooting—both remotely and in person. • Maintain clean, consistent documentation and ticketing for all issues. • Travel 25–50% of the time to customer sites and our U.S. lab (located in the northern suburbs of Minneapolis, MN). • Help improve our monitoring, diagnostic, and deployment workflows. What You Bring • Strong Linux fundamentals (CLI, services, logs, permissions, troubleshooting). • Deep networking experience—VLANs, routing, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, static IPs, etc. • Comfort working in hybrid or edge environments (IoT, on-prem, or embedded systems). • Experience working directly with customers—you're calm, clear, and professional under pressure. • Curiosity and patience—you enjoy figuring out why something failed as much as fixing it. • Willingness and ability to travel 25–50% to install, maintain, and troubleshoot edge devices in hospital or lab environments.
