About the Position The Principal, Vice President - Team Lead is a senior leadership role responsible for developing leaders, scaling multiple groups, and ensuring teamwide performance, documentation, and accountability. You’ll lead through systems and ensure every Group Lead operates consistently and in alignment with TEECOM’s standards, expectations, and priorities. You’ll oversee the financial health, delivery performance, client relationships, engagement, and long-term growth of your team. You’ll partner closely with your Principal, Executive Vice President (EVP) and collaborate with Client Relations, Marketing, Finance, People Operations, and Project Delivery Team Leads to ensure your team’s plans align with company Objectives and Key Results (OKRs). Your primary focus is scaling leadership—building strong Group Leads who build strong Project Leads who build strong teams. You’ll set clear expectations, hold leaders accountable, ensure documentation and process adherence across groups, and reinforce TEECOM’s culture of client care, continuous improvement, documentation, and accountability. You’ll serve as a connector across groups and functions—ensuring alignment between project delivery, client strategies, and internal operations. \n Leadership, Strategy, and Alignment As a Team Lead, your impact comes from developing leaders, driving cross-group alignment, and strengthening the systems that support TEECOM’s delivery at scale. You contribute in three key ways: Develop Leaders and Build Organizational Capacity You elevate TEECOM’s leadership strength by developing Group Leads into confident, consistent, high-judgment managers. You build long-term organizational capacity by ensuring each group has strong leadership, clear expectations, and a healthy pipeline of future leaders. You raise firmwide performance by instilling a culture where Group Leads coach effectively, document well, and hold their teams accountable. Drive Strategic Alignment and Firmwide Execution You ensure TEECOM’s mission, priorities, and standards translate into aligned, measurable outcomes across all groups. You create operational predictability by fostering shared understanding of scope, performance expectations, and delivery standards. You strengthen TEECOM’s ability to win and deliver work by guiding Group Leads toward disciplined decision-making and consistent client experience. Improve the TEECOM System You increase consistency and scalability by ensuring all groups apply TEECOM’s standards, documentation practices, and workflows. You reduce friction and risk by identifying cross-group patterns, surfacing systemic issues, and championing improvements that strengthen delivery. You advance firmwide alignment by collaborating with senior leaders to refine shared processes, tools, and expectations that elevate execution across the organization. What Success in this Position Looks Like Your team consistently meets or exceeds revenue, utilization, and profit margin goals. You ensure each group manages projects to scope, fee, schedule, and client expectations, identifying issues early. You ensure consistent execution against company OKRs and maintain visibility into progress across all groups. You maintain team structure aligned with structural symmetry and span of control guidelines. You coach and develop Group Leads and support succession planning across all groups. You maintain visibility into each group’s work, risks, and well-being and act as the escalation point and support resource. Your team achieves strong engagement results (Engagement Score ≥ 8.0, eNPS ≥ 50, Participation > 80%). All groups follow TEECOM processes and documentation practices, contributing to consistency and continuous improvement. Your team produces high-quality documentation and Pull Requests that improve TEECOM’s standards, workflows, and training materials. You reinforce accountability to TEECOM’s standards across all groups. You proactively engage in client relationships development activities, and encourage and support Group Leads in doing the same. You actively model and reinforce TEECOM’s Core Values — Care, Trust, and Value. You scale your groups into high-performing, aligned units that can grow and break into new teams as needed. Responsibilities and Expectations These responsibilities and expectations represent what is required to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. Annual and Quarterly Drive alignment of team strategies, staffing plans, and execution priorities with company OKRs. Participate in Quarterly Planning Meetings (QPMs) to align execution across teams, review progress toward company Objectives, and support firmwide decision making. Guide Group Leads in translating company OKRs into clear actions across groups. Monitor financial performance, utilization, workload forecasts, and team health; adjust execution to support company OKRs. Conduct performance assessments for direct reports and coach Group Leads to strengthen leadership effectiveness and accountability. Support compensation planning, promotions, and succession planning in partnership with your EVP and People Operations. Strengthen client relationships through business reviews and by guiding Group Leads on client strategies and account growth aligned with company OKRs. Reinforce documentation standards by authoring high-impact documentation and reviewing Pull Requests that improve cross-group consistency. Foster a strong team culture by supporting engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and in person TEEm events. Monthly and Bi-Weekly Participate in team showcases, leadership alignment meetings, and client or market sector discussions to monitor progress toward company OKRs. Review performance across groups and drive timely corrective actions related to staffing, quality, delivery risk, or financial performance. Collaborate with Team Leads, Group Leads, and cross functional partners to improve QA/QC standards, documentation practices, and operational alignment. Monitor engagement insights, including Officevibe feedback, to identify trends, mitigate risks, and strengthen leadership effectiveness. Drive recognition, leadership development, and team culture through GEMs, Pinnacle nominations, and engagement initiatives. Provide coaching and leadership guidance to strengthen Group Lead effectiveness and leadership growth across groups. Engage directly with leaders and team members as needed to reinforce expectations, support alignment, and address emerging risks. Provide financial oversight across groups, reinforcing accurate time reporting, expense practices, and timely resolution of billing issues in partnership with Accounting. Weekly and Daily Hold 1:1 meetings with your EVP and direct reports to review execution priorities, project health, staffing needs, and risks impacting company Objectives. Lead weekly team meetings and participate in client relations syncs to maintain alignment on pursuits and delivery priorities tied to company OKRs. Maintain active relationships with key clients through regular communication and engagement aligned with company OKRs. Review workload forecasts and staffing plans to balance resources across groups in support of company OKRs. Provide timely decisions, remove roadblocks, and guide Group Leads on issues requiring leadership oversight. Stay connected to daily operations through huddles and proactive communication, ensuring momentum and accountability across teams. Reinforce a culture of recognition and accountability through visible leadership engagement across groups. As Needed Provide leadership oversight to ensure responsible planning, coverage, and continuity across groups during team absences. Provide leadership oversight on pursuits and proposals in partnership with Group Leads, Marketing, and Client Relations, including fee strategy, RFP responses, interviews, negotiations, and signing authority as applicable. Partner with Recruiting on staffing strategy, candidate evaluation, and interviews. Coach and support Group Leads through performance challenges and accountability plans; escalate to People Operations or Leadership as appropriate. Support organizational transitions, including role changes, team movements, and separations, in partnership with People Operations and Leadership. Collaborate with EVPs and cross functional leaders to improve processes, documentation, alignment, and consistency across TEECOM. Supervisory / Mentorship / Training Responsibilities Supervisory: Provides direct leadership and accountability for Group Leads and other direct reports, ensuring clarity of expectations, consistent performance, and alignment with TEECOM’s systems. Mentorship: Offers structured coaching, feedback, and career development that strengthens leadership capability and supports Group Leads in developing their own teams. Training: Ensures effective onboarding and supports ongoing learning, skill development, and continuous improvement across all groups under your leadership. Experience and Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred; advanced degree (MS, MBA, or equivalent) a plus. Experience: 12+ years of experience in AEC or related professional services. Preferred: 3+ years of experience as a Group Lead or managing multiple project leads. Demonstrated ability to lead leaders, drive systems-level alignment, and scale performance across multiple groups. Strong understanding of project delivery, financial performance, workload planning, client strategy, and cross-functional coordination. Proven capability in developing talent, supporting succession planning, and strengthening leadership pipelines. Industry certifications preferred or considered a plus based on discipline: RCDD — plus PMP — plus CTS-D — plus CPP/PSP — plus Physical Demands These physical demands represent what is required to perform the essential functions of this job. Approximately 75% of work is performed in a remote or office environment using standard office equipment. Approximately 25% occurs at client sites, including construction environments and existing facilities. Utility rooms and similar spaces may have restricted access or may not fully comply with ADA accessibility standards. All accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions must be reported immediately to the site superintendent and internally to People Operations. \n $170,000 - $250,000 a year This compensation will vary depending on your role-related skills, experience, knowledge, and subject matter expertise.
