Manage sales of organic specialty chemicals across multiple markets, assist sales reps with goal setting and career development, and maintain supplier relationships with regular travel and joint sales calls.
At least 5 years of chemical sales and distributor sales management experience, strong communication skills, and a technical degree or equivalent industrial chemical sales background.
Philadelphia based chemical distributor of both technical grade materials, pharma and advanced material intermediates is looking for an experienced sales manager for their business based in multiple locations in a tri-state area (PA, NJ, DE). Manager will focus on sales of organic specialty chemicals into a variety of markets (pharma, consumer packaging, pet care, metal treatment, etc.). Manager will assist all sales reps in goal setting, sales and career development. There will also be an emphasis on supplier interface as well. Position is home based with day travel to company headquarters few times per month as well as regular joint sales calls. Qualifications • 4 year degree in a technical field desired but industrial chemical sales experience will be considered in lieu of educational requirements. • At least 5 years of chemical sales in the industrial, commercial and institutional markets. • Previous work with distributor sales required. • Previous sales management experience required. Required Skills • Experience in chemical sales. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to set and achieve sales goals. Preferred Skills • Experience in organic specialty chemicals. • Familiarity with the pharma and consumer packaging markets.
