Shipping and Logistics Associate – Team Gleason Foundation Reports to: Program Manager Functional Direction Provided By: Shipping and Logistics Coordinator Role Overview: Team Gleason, an innovative nonprofit dedicated to empowering individuals living with ALS, is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Shipping & Logistics Associate to support hands-on shipping, receiving, and equipment preparation activities. This role focuses on executing core operational tasks that ensure assistive technology and equipment are safely processed, accurately tracked, and promptly redeployed to people living with ALS. The Shipping & Logistics Associate performs task-based work under the guidance of the Shipping & Logistics Coordinator, while receiving formal supervision, performance management, and development support from the Program Manager. Core Responsibilities: Portable Power Wheelchair (PPWC) Refurbishment Support • Refurbish returned Portable Power Wheelchairs, including unboxing, cleaning, inspecting, and preparing units for redeployment. • Repackage PPWCs in accordance with established procedures to ensure safe transport and readiness for loaner use. • Assist with maintaining physical organization of the PPWC storage and refurbishment space. Shipping, Receiving & Equipment Handling • Check in and process returned and donated assistive technology and equipment. • Inspect returned equipment for condition and completeness, documenting issues as needed. • Box, pack, and ship loaner communication devices, mounts, and other assistive technology and equipment. • Handle UPS drop-offs and third-party packing workflows, including coordinating shipments for individuals unable to box and ship items independently. Shipping Documentation & Labeling • Create and send return shipping labels for equipment and loaner returns. • Ensure shipments are prepared accurately and in alignment with shipping instructions and service standards. Inventory & Space Organization Support • Update inventory and tracking systems to reflect incoming and outgoing equipment as directed. • Assist the Shipping & Logistics Coordinator with maintaining an organized, efficient, and safe loan closet environment. Operational Collaboration • Complete assigned tasks under the guidance and training of the Shipping & Logistics Coordinator. • Follow Shipping & Logistics SOPs and workflows consistently. • Communicate delays, equipment issues, or space constraints promptly. • Support backlog reduction efforts during periods of increased demand. Additional Responsibilities • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the organization’s mission and operational needs. Desired Skills and Competencies • Strong attention to detail and consistency in physical task execution. • Ability to follow structured processes and operational instructions. • Clear communication and willingness to work collaboratively. • Comfortable working in hands-on, equipment-focused environments. • Basic proficiency in MS Office and database systems preferred. Qualifications • High school diploma or GED required. • Prior experience in shipping, logistics, warehouse, refurbishment, or operations support preferred. • Ability to lift and move products and materials up to 65 lbs.
