Lead and mentor a sales engineering team supporting enterprise and mid-market customers, directly engage in complex deals, and serve as a trusted technical advisor.
Over 8 years in Sales Engineering or Solutions Engineering, with experience managing teams, strong understanding of security architectures, and proven ability to influence enterprise stakeholders.
We are seeking a Director of Sales Engineering to lead and scale our Sales Engineering function while remaining deeply hands-on in the field. This is a player-coach role for a technically strong, customer-facing leader who thrives in high-growth environments and enjoys balancing strategic leadership with direct deal execution. You will partner closely with Sales leadership, Account Executives, Product, and Customer Success to drive revenue across large enterprise and mid-market customers in the North American market. As both a leader and practitioner, you will set technical sales strategy, mentor and develop Solution Engineers, and personally engage in complex, high-value opportunities as a trusted advisor to customers and prospects. This role offers meaningful influence over go-to-market execution, product direction, and the evolution of our technical sales organization. Key Responsibilities • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing Sales Engineering team supporting enterprise and mid-market sales motions. • Act as a player-coach, directly supporting strategic and complex deals while coaching SEs on discovery, demos, and technical validation. • Establish best practices for technical discovery, demos, POVs/POCs, and technical close. • Partner with Sales leadership to align SE resources to pipeline priorities and revenue goals. • Hire, onboard, and develop SE talent as the organization scales. • Partner with Account Executives on key opportunities to drive technical strategy, solution design, and deal acceleration. • Lead high-impact product demonstrations, executive presentations, and proof-of-value engagements. • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to CISOs, security architects, IT leaders, and executive stakeholders. • Translate complex customer requirements into scalable, secure architectures using our platform. • Support RFPs/RFIs, security questionnaires, and architecture reviews for enterprise customers. • Engage with existing customers to support expansion opportunities and ensure long-term technical success. Qualifications • 8+ years of experience in Sales Engineering / Solutions Engineering, ideally in cybersecurity or enterprise SaaS. • Prior experience leading, mentoring, or managing Sales Engineers in a high-growth environment. • Strong understanding of modern security architectures including endpoint, network, identity, and data protection, with Zero Trust principles. • Proven ability to engage and influence enterprise-level CISOs, security architects, and executive stakeholders. • Hands-on experience running complex proof-of-value or proof-of-concept engagements. • Exceptional communication, storytelling, and consultative selling skills. • Ability to operate effectively in both strategic leadership discussions and tactical, deal-level execution.
