As a Supply Chain Coordinator (Commodities Focus) you’ll play a key role in ensuring a reliable, cost-effective supply of specialized materials and components that enable scientific and medical innovation. In this role, you’ll monitor global market trends, partner with engineering, quality, and operations teams, and negotiate with suppliers to balance cost, quality, and supply continuity. You’ll analyze cost drivers, support new product development with sourcing insights, and ensure supplier compliance with industry and regulatory standards. You’ll also apply your project management skills to lead cross-functional initiatives—such as qualifying new suppliers, transitioning materials, and implementing cost-reduction programs. This position is ideal for someone who thrives on technical problem-solving, strategic collaboration, and driving measurable impact on products that advance human health. How You’ll Make an Impact • Lead and manage projects of varying scope and complexity, including supplier qualification and cost-reduction initiatives. • Apply broad professional knowledge to resolve complex supplier, material, and sourcing issues. • Execute sourcing and supply strategies in alignment with site and corporate objectives. • Manage supplier relationships, including issue escalation, performance monitoring, and improvement planning. • Support AVL development, supplier compliance tracking, business continuity planning, and contract/spend management. • Partner cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and quality teams to support new product development and material transitions. • Monitor market trends, cost drivers, and supply risks to support proactive sourcing decisions. If they have a background in commodities such as plastics and resins that would be a plus. What You Bring Education & Experience • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field. • 1–3 years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, commodity management, or supplier management, within regulated manufacturing environment • Must have project management experience • Requires negotiation skills • Bonus: Commodities knowledge such as plastics and resins • Understanding of purchasing, commodity management concepts, cost analysis, and supplier performance evaluation. • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, or Bills of Materials (a plus). • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate supplier data, pricing trends, and risk factors. • Skilled in negotiating pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers. • Proficiency with Excel and other supply-chain-related tools. • Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to collaborate effectively across engineering, operations, and quality teams. • Ability to resolve issues with limited supervision and exercise sound judgment.
