We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing / Inside Sales Agent to join our team. This role combines procurement expertise with customer-focused sales support. You will be responsible for sourcing products, negotiating with suppliers, managing purchase orders, and assisting customers with quotes and orders to ensure operational efficiency and customer satisfaction Qualifications and Requirements • College diploma or relevant work experience required • Strong administrative and process skills related to purchasing • Strong background in MRP/ERP systems, QuickBooks Enterprise/Desktop highly preferred • Strong oral and written communication skills • Strong background in Microsoft Office (excel, word) • Strong interpersonal skills • Strong knowledge of order entry, inventory, and purchasing systems • Technical Ability – effectively apply written/verbal instructions from procedures, documents and blueprints • Ability to Learn – assimilating and apply new, job-related information in a timely manner • Adaptability – maintaining effectiveness in a changing environment, assignments, responsibilities and/or priorities • Physical Dexterity – effectively be able to bend, twist, and lift up to 25lbs Job Description • Responsible for purchasing job specific materials from bill of material lists. • Responsible for working in QuickBooks in all aspects of the purchasing/ inside sales process stream. • Responsible for inside sales activities to quote spare and aftermarket parts. • Responsible for responding to customer quote requests and tracking within excel. • Responsible for purchasing facility, shop and trade supplies (welding, shipping, etc.). • Responsible for weekly reporting of KPI’s and tracking of materials being purchased, shipped to and from plants. • Responsible for assisting Applications Engineer in the creation of new bill of materials within QuickBooks. • Responsible for assisting in the closing of work orders when finished goods ship. • Responsible for responding to customer quote requests and tracking within excel. • Work closely with foreman, Applications Engineer, and Project Managers on planning material inflow to avoid production delays. • Proactively identify long lead time items, proactively purchase parts for job and stock to support production, utilizing shortage reports. • Communicate with vendors on parts issues, pricing, requests for cut-sheets, certifications, etc. • Assist project managers in product sourcing, search online, make calls, research. • Work with Project Managers and field service technicians on locating parts, expediting parts to job sites, troubleshooting parts issues. • Assist the shipping and warehouse department efforts, helping to find appropriate crating, renting equipment, identifying and buying shipping materials and consumables required for job.
