Randstad has partnered with a 40 year old, full-service construction management and general contracting company. They are seeking a dynamic Assistant Controller to join their team! In this pivotal role, you will report directly to the Director of Finance and Controller, serving as a cornerstone of their financial integrity and operational success. Responsibilities: • Help drive our monthly financial reporting, dive deep into account reconciliations, and craft journal entries that meet the highest GAAP standards. • Oversee all general ledger activities, manage payroll, and champion our 401K administration. • Mentor and inspire junior staff, sharing your expertise in accounting principles and professional best practices. • Play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, and cost variance analysis to keep our projects on track and profitable. • Modernize our workflows by maintaining internal controls, formulating cutting-edge policies, and leading the charge during annual audits. • Partner with Project Accounting to ensure seamless flow between accounts payable and job costing. • Oversee job cost data and timesheets, ensuring every hour worked is accurately reflected in our project financials. • Supervise the preparation of weekly, quarterly, and annual tax returns (including W-2s) while maintaining a hands-on understanding of our HR technology. Qualifications: • A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required. • At least 5+ years of seasoned experience in construction-specific financial or general ledger accounting. • You are a self-motivated, detail-oriented pro with a knack for multitasking and hitting deadlines. • While not required, a CPA license or an MBA will definitely set you apart.
