We are seeking a Quality Control Technician to perform testing and analysis on aggregates, cement, and asphalt products. This role is essential for ensuring compliance with ASTM and AASHTO standards, supporting continuous product quality, and providing technical expertise to both internal teams and customers. What You’ll Be Doing • Conduct quality control tests in line with ASTM/AASHTO precision standards. • Maintain and calibrate laboratory and field testing equipment. • Record test results, update QC/QA databases, and prepare reports as needed. • Support troubleshooting and performance analysis for material issues. • Assist in developing and implementing material control plans and project-specific QC procedures. • Provide technical support to plant managers, superintendents, and sales teams. • Learn plant operations across cement, asphalt, and aggregate facilities. • Educate customers on proper product applications and usage. • Maintain plant diary documenting weather, production, sampling, and corrective actions. • Promote and enforce a strong culture of safety and environmental compliance. What We’re Looking For • Education: High school diploma or equivalent (post-secondary technical education preferred). • Experience: 1–3 years in materials testing, construction, or quality control. • Certifications: • MDOT Aggregate Technician Certificate (or ability to obtain within 3 months). • MSHA Certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months). • Skills & Requirements: • Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs over uneven ground. • Flexibility to work nights and weekends as needed. • Dependable attendance and teamwork skills. • Proficiency in data entry, spreadsheets, and technical documentation. • Commitment to PPE compliance and safety-first practices.
