About the Role: We are looking for Intermediate and Senior level Automation Controls Specialists/Engineers responsible for developing automation and control system projects including mechanical components, sensors, and control systems. This role collaborates with members of the Automation Team to design, develop, test, and troubleshoot various software and programs. What You’ll Do: • Participate in leading and supervising project and field services operations. • Design, develop and test PLC/HMI/DCS/SCADA software. • Provide field, commissioning, and startup services for industrial control systems. • Assist in control system design. • Collaborate with designers and drafters to develop controls drawing packages. • Design, select products, place product orders, and track materials for the assigned project. • Create technical documents including control narratives, DBM, shutdown keys, etc. • Provide instrumentation, electrical, and control system design and drafting support. • Provide field service including repairs and upgrades for industrial control systems. • Complete control panel assembly, wiring, and testing. • Assist systems commissioning, startup, and documentation. • Assist management with developing cost estimates, schedules, specifications, proposals, and bill of materials for assigned projects. What You’ll Bring: • Degree in Engineering in a related field. • Reliable transportation and an ability to travel; you have the ability to travel within the US and Canada. • Licensed Professional Engineer or Engineer-in-Training considered an asset. • 5-10+ years of experience in a similar role with Industrial Control System programming. • Experience with Gas Turbines, Pumps and Compressors and related auxiliary systems. • Computer skills include networking, software installation, driver installation and support. • PLC/DCS/RTU programming experience with one or more of the following vendor systems: Rockwell/Allen Bradley, GE Fanuc, Siemens, Modicon, Horner, Schneider, ABB, Emerson. • HMI/SCADA programming experience with one or more of the following vendors platforms: Rockwell, Schneider, GE, ABB, Inductive Automation. • Experience with on-site commissioning and startup. • Strong technical trouble shooting skills. • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to feel objects, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, talk and hear.
