Schedule: Monday through Friday (working weekends as needed), 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Overview: Since 1983 Tara Plastics, located just outside of Atlanta, has been manufacturing superior plastic films used in a wide array of flexible packaging applications. Today our company manufactures the highest quality film products used by our customers in the food processing industry as well as by converters to produce some of the finest and most reliable product packaging found on grocery stores shelves and in refrigerated and frozen food cases. What You’ll Do: Tara Plastics is looking for a highly organized and proactive Material Handler/Forklift Operator. The ideal candidate will perform all duties safely, using the required personal protective equipment (PPE) and following all safety regulations. This role is responsible for maintaining an efficient workflow, ensuring timely service, and communicating effectively with team members to support overall production operations. Primary Job Functions: • Responsible for the proper and safe operation of vehicles, including Company trucks. • Responsible for correctly understanding picking list and picking product from warehouse to be shipped. • Responsible for correctly staging product shipments. • Responsible for safe forklift operation. • Responsible for proper storage and placement of products in warehouse • Responsible for following proper weighing and storage policy for scrap. • Responsible for proper use of scan guns and thorough knowledge of uses. • Responsible for complying with safety programs, including PPE, reporting defective equipment, safety hazards, etc. to shift supervisor. • Responsible for general knowledge of all inventories. • Responsible for answering inquiries as to product availability. • Responsible for proper delivery of products to customers. • Responsible for the proper completion of all delivery paperwork and receipts. • Responsible for representing the company in a positive manner while delivering products to customers. • Responsible for assistance to coworkers when necessary. • Responsible for zone housekeeping, assurance of proper and safe storage of materials and disposal of trash. Essential Skills & Competencies: • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and walk distances, use hands to grip finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or bend over; and talk or hear. T • The employees must be able to frequently lift and/or move heavy loads (approx. 50 pounds). • Ability to sit for extended periods of time during the operation of vehicles. Physical ability to operate vehicles without causing a safety hazard Your Background: • Driver’s license with proper classification to operate vehicles.
