Learn more at tandemdiabetes.com A DAY IN THE LIFE: The Program Manager, Translations & Localization is responsible for leading global translation and localization programs supporting Tandem Diabetes’ product development, regulatory submissions, commercialization, and post‑market sustaining activities. This role manages complex, multi‑language initiatives across product labeling, software/UI, packaging, training, marketing, and digital content, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant delivery for global markets. The Program Manager acts as a key cross‑functional facilitator, partnering with Global Labeling, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, R&D, Clinical, Marketing, Digital, Manufacturing, and external language service providers (LSPs). This position requires strong program management expertise, deep understanding of medical device quality systems, and the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams in a regulated environment. WHAT YOU’LL DO Program Leadership Lead end‑to‑end translation and localization programs for IFUs, packaging, software/UI text, tutorials, videos, marketing and digital content. Define program scope, schedules, milestones, dependencies and risk management plans across multiple languages and regions. Align translation workflows with product development, regulatory, and commercialization timelines. Drive the creation and maintenance of translation assets, including translation memories, glossaries/do not translate lists and regional requirements. Cross‑Functional Collaboration Serve as the central liaison among Global Labeling, Regulatory, Quality, R&D, Clinical, Marketing, Digital, Manufacturing and external vendors. Partner with program managers and technical teams to plan and prioritize translation deliverables. Facilitate cross‑functional reviews, approvals and issue escalation. Provide regular status updates, risk assessments and metrics to stakeholders and leadership. Vendor & Execution Management Initiate translation requests, manage vendor quoting and oversee execution by approved LSPs. Monitor vendor performance, quality, timelines and deliverables; drive continuous improvement. Coordinate in‑country reviews and delivery of final assets. Quality, Compliance & Documentation Ensure translated content meets internal quality standards and complies with QMS procedures, regulatory requirements and regional regulations. Review translated content for accuracy and completeness. Support verification, approvals and change documentation. Maintain working knowledge of design controls, medical device standards and localization processes. Digital & Marketing Support Partner with Marketing and Digital teams to coordinate translations, glossary adherence, in‑country reviews and deployment of localized assets. Work with Digital teams to ensure correct upload and deployment of localized content on web platforms. Continuous Improvement Lead and contribute to initiatives that enhance translation workflows, localization tools, vendor governance, content reuse and PMO best practices. Identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce cycle time and improve quality. WHAT YOU’LL NEED Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience. 5+ years managing translation or localization projects in FDA‑regulated or ISO 14971–certified industries (medical devices, life sciences, or similar). Proficiency in one or more languages besides English preferred. Experience supporting diabetes‑related products preferred. Ability to work effectively in a matrixed environment and influence across organizational levels. Demonstrated success leading cross‑functional initiatives and managing multiple concurrent workstreams. Strong organizational, prioritization, problem‑solving, and communication skills. Proficiency with project management tools for planning, scheduling, and collaboration. Experience with document management systems (PLM, SharePoint, etc.). Familiarity with translation management systems (TMS), content management systems and labeling systems. Experience with tools such as Confluence and Oracle Cloud PLM. Knowledge of FDA, MDR, UDI, ISO, GDP, and GMP requirements preferred. Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project). Strong advocacy and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build productive working relationships. WHEN & WHERE YOU’LL WORK: Remote: This position is fully remote with occasional on‑site visits based on business needs and open to candidates within the United States. Equipment for the role will be provided and training will occur virtually. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: The starting base pay range for this position is $110,000 - $135,000 annually. Base pay will vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and may also fluctuate depending on candidate’s location and the overall job market. In addition to base pay, Tandem offers a competitive compensation package that includes bonus and a robust benefits package.
