Job Overview We are seeking an accomplished and visionary Senior Vice President (SVP) of Business Operations to join our executive team and report directly to the President. This is a pivotal role for a proven leader who thrives at the intersection of strategy and execution. The SVP will oversee all core operational functions—including study budgets and contracts, pricing strategy, vendor procurement and management, e-source design, data management, risk and compliance, and the Project Management Office (PMO). As a member of the senior leadership team, you will be responsible for driving process discipline, integration, standardization, and scalability across the organization. You will also champion change management and technology enablement to ensure our operations can support growth, innovation, and long-term success. What You’ll Do • Shape Operational Strategy: Partner with the President and executive team to define and deliver a business operations roadmap that aligns with the company’s vision and growth trajectory. • Study Budgets & Contracts: • Develop and oversee study-specific pricing strategies that reflect the true scope of work. • Continuously review budgets and contracts to ensure alignment with industry trends and benchmarks. • Drive cost optimization practices, ensuring budgets accurately reflect operational realities while maintaining competitiveness and profitability. • Vendor Leadership: Direct vendor procurement and ongoing vendor management, building strong partnerships that drive value and performance. • Technology & Data Integration: Spearhead digital transformation initiatives (workflow automation and enterprise tools), ensuring operational data is accurate, secure, and actionable. • Project & Program Excellence: • Oversee the PMO to ensure governance, prioritization, and flawless execution of strategic initiatives. • Lead our network study start-up operations, ensuring consistency, speed, and compliance in study activation. • Establish and monitor project health metrics (budget, timelines, risk, quality) to ensure proactive issue resolution and executive visibility. • Champion project governance and alignment with organizational goals. • Change Leadership: Champion organizational change management to foster adoption of new systems, processes, and business models. • Risk & Compliance: Establish and maintain enterprise-wide risk management and compliance frameworks, mitigating operational, contractual, and regulatory risks. • Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing operations team while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. What We’re Looking For • 10–15+ years of progressive leadership experience in business operations, finance, or related executive roles. • Proven track record leading study budgets, pricing strategies, and contract management at the enterprise level. • Expertise in operational process design, standardization, and integration at scale. • Experience driving digital transformation, technology-enabled solutions, and enterprise data strategies. • Strong background in governance, risk, compliance, and organizational change management. • Demonstrated success managing large, cross-functional teams and PMOs. • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. • Strong background in managing sponsor and CRO relationships, partnership alignment, and performance oversight. • Strategic thinker with a reputation for operational excellence, scalability, and delivering business results.
