Summary - Director, Air & Noise Group Leader Are you looking for an opportunity to take ownership of and lead an Air Quality & Noise practice? Our client, a 100% employee-owned environmental planning firm, is seeking a senior-level leader to head its Air Quality & Noise practice. The current practice supports a wide range of public and private sector projects across industries including water infrastructure, transportation, utilities, energy, telecommunications, and resource extraction. You will play a key role in overseeing technical study preparation, managing and mentoring a team of subject matter experts, engaging directly with clients and regulatory agencies, and driving the next phase of strategic growth. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical expertise and business acumen with deep experience in CEQA/NEPA air quality and noise impact assessments and environmental modeling. Strong leadership capabilities and a track record of client development are essential. Key Responsibilities: • Lead cross-disciplinary teams delivering complex CEQA/NEPA air quality, GHG, and noise analyses for projects across California • Serve as the technical director on emissions and dispersion modeling, leveraging tools like AERMOD, CalEEMod, MOVES, and EMFAC • Drive strategic growth by expanding key client relationships and identifying new market opportunities across sectors such as transportation, utilities, energy, and infrastructure • Shape the future of the practice through team recruitment, resource planning, and long-term vision • Train and mentor junior consultants and foste a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and professional growth Qualifications: • Senior-level experience in air quality, GHG, and/or noise/acoustics consulting • Expertise in environmental impact assessments and regulatory compliance under CEQA and NEPA • Proficient in air dispersion and emissions modeling tools such as AERMOD, CalEEMod, MOVES, EMFAC, and familiarity with NSR, PSD, and Title V permitting • Demonstrated success in client relationship management, strategic business development, and leading high-performing technical teams • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for practice building, mentorship, and contributing to a collaborative, employee-owned culture Benefits & Perks! • 100% paid medical, dental, and vision insurance • Employee stock ownership plans • 401k match • Hybrid/ remote work schedule options • Flexible PTO • Monthly bonus opportunities • Unpaid leaves/ sabbaticals • & more!
