Full Description

Branch Manager – Chicago, IL About the Opportunity Our client is a global leader in the distribution of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) parts and services, supporting airlines, airports, cargo operators, ground handlers, and MRO organizations around the world. With an established international footprint and a reputation for exceptional customer service, the company plays a critical role in keeping airport ground operations running efficiently. They are seeking an experienced Branch Manager to lead their Chicago branch while providing oversight and support to their St. Louis location and managing their key airline customer. This is an opportunity to join a stable, industry-leading organization where you'll have the autonomy to lead an established operation, develop your team, strengthen customer relationships, and make a meaningful impact on the continued success of the business. Why This Role? If you're an experienced operations, warehouse, supply chain, or distribution leader looking to move beyond managing day-to-day operations and into full business leadership, this role offers exactly that. You'll have the autonomy to lead your branch, build strong customer relationships, develop your team, and drive operational performance while working for a company that values accountability, initiative, and long-term growth. What You'll Do Lead the Business • Provide overall leadership for a distribution operation of approximately 15 employees. • Build, coach, and develop a high-performing team while fostering a positive, accountable culture. • Create alignment across operations, sales support, and customer service to achieve branch objectives. • Serve as the leader your team looks to for guidance, support, and decision-making. Drive Operational Excellence • Oversee all warehouse and distribution functions, including shipping, receiving, inventory management, purchasing, and logistics. • Monitor key performance metrics and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, service levels, and productivity. • Implement process improvements that enhance operational performance while maintaining exceptional customer service. • Ensure the branch consistently meets safety, operational, and financial objectives. Build Customer Relationships • Develop and strengthen relationships with customers and strategic business partners. • Resolve customer concerns professionally while delivering an exceptional customer experience. • Represent the branch with both internal leadership and external stakeholders. • Help identify opportunities to strengthen existing relationships and support future business growth. Own the Branch • Balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced distribution environment. • Maintain visibility across every aspect of the operation while empowering your team to execute independently. • Drive continuous improvement and contribute to the long-term success of both the Chicago and St. Louis operations. What We're Looking For • Leadership experience within warehouse, distribution, logistics, operations, or supply chain. • Experience managing teams in a hands-on operational environment. • Background in industrial, automotive, heavy equipment, aviation, or parts distribution is considered a strong asset. • Experience overseeing inventory, purchasing, shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations. • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. • Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills. The Ideal Candidate You're someone who enjoys taking ownership of an entire operation—not just one department. You're equally comfortable walking the warehouse floor, coaching your team, solving operational challenges, and meeting with key customers. You lead by example, make thoughtful decisions, and know how to hold people accountable while building a culture where employees enjoy coming to work. Most importantly, you're looking for a long-term opportunity with a stable, global industry leader where your leadership can have a meaningful impact. Compensation & Benefits • $95,000 - 105k Base • Performance-based bonus 10-15% • Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance • Short-Term & Long-Term Disability Insurance • Life Insurance • 401(k) Retirement Plan • Health Care Flexible Spending Account (HC-FSA) • Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (DC-FSA) • Health Savings Account (HSA) • Generous Paid Time Off! • Paid Holidays • Opportunity to lead an established branch with autonomy and long-term growth potential
