Job Overview My client is a healthcare revenue cycle management company seeking an experienced and strategic Manager of Healthcare Managed Care Contracts to oversee the development, negotiation, and management of healthcare managed care agreements. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of healthcare contracting, legal compliance, and vendor management to ensure optimal contract performance and organizational growth. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of healthcare revenue cycle management and insurance/government entities. Duties • Lead the negotiation, drafting, review, and management of healthcare managed care contracts to optimize organizational objectives. • Manage vendor relationships, including contractor management and performance monitoring to ensure contractual obligations are met. • Develop and implement strategic plans for contract lifecycle management, including change management and process improvements. • Ensure adherence to legal standards by reviewing documents for compliance with healthcare laws, intellectual property law, and legal drafting best practices. • Maintain accurate records of contracts, including renewals dates and progress status. • Support business development efforts through proposal writing, pricing strategies, and strategic planning activities. • Conduct research on industry trends and regulatory updates to inform contract strategies and negotiations. • Build relationships with client providers and senior management at hospital systems. • Lead experienced team of credentialing professionals. Experience • Proven experience in healthcare managed care contracting or related procurement roles within the healthcare industry. • Extensive knowledge of contract negotiation, legal drafting, document review, and contract lifecycle management. • Familiarity with healthcare laws including UCC law, HIPAA regulations, and Federal Acquisition Regulations. • Experience managing vendor relationships and contractor performance in a regulated environment. • Strong strategic planning skills combined with business development acumen. • Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of successful contract negotiations that align with organizational goals. • Ability to interpret complex legal documents and ensure compliance across multiple regulatory frameworks. This role is vital for ensuring the organization’s managed care contracts are strategically negotiated and effectively managed to support sustainable growth while maintaining regulatory compliance.
