Position : Logistics Procurement Manager Role Overview As Logistics Procurement Manager – Road Transportation, you will develop and execute sourcing strategies across LTL, FTL, flatbed, small parcel, pneumatic bulk tankers, end dump, and side dump trucks. This role combines strategic planning, data-driven decision-making, and operational execution to deliver efficiency, sustainability, and value. Key Responsibilities: • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for road transportation. • Lead carrier negotiations, securing competitive rates, fuel surcharge structures, and favorable contracts. • Identify cost-saving opportunities through lane analysis, backhaul optimization, and benchmarking. • Oversee freight audit and payment systems to ensure accuracy. • Collaborate with operations and sales teams to align transportation capacity with demand. • Improve network efficiency via load consolidation, backhaul mapping, and carrier diversification. • Contribute to sustainability initiatives and cross-modal integration strategies. • Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership. • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies, including proper PPE use. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field (advanced degree preferred), or 7+ years equivalent experience. • 7+ years of experience managing road transportation (LTL, FTL, flatbed, parcel, or specialized trucking). • Proficiency in freight audit systems, predictive analytics, Excel, Tableau, Power BI (Python/R a plus). • Deep knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, HOS, and hazmat compliance. • Strong negotiation, contract management, and analytical skills. • Excellent communication skills and executive presence. • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment. • Travel: up to 25% required.
