We utilize advanced technologies such as continuous flow and have produced over 100 tons of GMP material by continuous flow processes to date. Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and motivated Account Manager to join our Fine Chemicals Division. This role is remote with travel, with a strong preference for candidates based on the East Coast or Midwest. The Account Manager will be responsible for managing customer accounts and driving business growth through custom synthesis projects for pharmaceutical intermediates, raw starting materials, and catalyst products. Accountable for securing and managing both R&D and commercial projects from inquiry to delivery, coordinating with overseas technical and operational teams, and achieving sales and profitability targets in alignment with the division's business objectives. Key Responsibilities • Develop and manage customer relationships to identify new business in custom synthesis and catalyst projects within the pharmaceutical and fine chemical sectors. • Serve as the primary contact for assigned customers, managing communications and expectations, and ongoing project updates. • Coordinate closely with internal and external Sales, Planning, R&D, Production, Quality, and Procurement to ensure technical alignment, timeline adherence, and successful project execution. • Track customer interactions, proposals, and project progress using Action Item tracking sheets to support effective project management. • Develop and manage accurate sales forecasts and budgets. • Provide timely visit and activity reports, including competitive and industry intelligence. • Prepare competitive proposals, conduct pricing discussions, and secure customer orders • Manage and track multiple project requests, addressing any issues, and ensuring milestones and due dates are achieved. • Prepare and present presentations to customers, provide project updates, track progress, and support discussions. • Represent the company professionally at customer meetings, conferences, and industry events to strengthen brand presence and identify new business opportunities. • Stay informed on competitive activities, pricing trends, and new opportunities. • Collaborate with the Vice President and Senior Director and internal teams to develop strategies that support business growth, customer retention, and long-term partnerships. • Identify emerging fine chemical products, trends, and business opportunities in target markets. • Maintain and grow existing business within the current customer base. • Collaborate with global team to coordinate activities with international clients. • Prepare and execute effective business and marketing plans consistent with global Fine Chemicals objectives. • Offer technical and commercial support to clients regarding product lines and specifications. Qualifications Education: • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering is required. Experience: • Minimum of 3-5 years of chemical or fine chemical sales experience. • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sales or business development within the pharmaceutical or fine chemical industries. • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in pharmaceutical or fine chemical project management, sales, or customer facing roles. • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Skills and Competencies: • Strong understanding of sales and project management within the pharmaceutical and fine chemical industries. • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. • Customer focused, organized, and able to manage multiple technical projects effectively. • Works independently and collaborates effectively with technical and commercial teams in a fast paced, multicultural environment. • Flexible and responsive to global business needs, including participation in meetings and calls across different time zones. • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Teams; experience with SAP is a plus. • Ability to travel (internationally) as needed to customer sites, conferences, and company locations (approximately four - seven weeks per year). • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); experience with SAP is a plus. • Strong knowledge of marketing and sales strategy with a proven record of success. • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. • Customer-focused, collaborative, and highly organized. • Able to work independently and effectively within a multicultural, fast-paced environment. • Ability to travel as needed.
