Business Analyst, Energy Analytics (Renewables) Location: Fully remote- CST preferred (US) Market rate: $65-73/hr (W2) Schedule: M-F, 40 hrs/wk Contract: Initial 12 months (probable extensions/conversion) Target Start: November Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, disability, paid vacation/sick leave, 401K Job Overview: The Energy Analytics team is seeking a Business Analyst with experience in renewable energy and a strong understanding of Virtual Power Purchase Agreement (vPPA) settlements. This role will support Purchase Order (PO) management, payment tracking, invoicing, and Renewable Energy Credit (REC) tracking for a global renewable energy portfolio. This team supports the company’s hyperscaler and AI infrastructure—helping shape and execute a clean and sustainable energy strategy across more than 200 renewable projects worldwide. The role involves navigating diverse geographic markets, price structures, and data center energy needs. Responsibilities: • Manage and track invoices, payments, and POs related to renewable energy projects. • Support global renewable project settlements, including vPPA and REC transactions. • Resolve invoice discrepancies and maintain accurate payment status reporting. • Track and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the renewable portfolio. • Log, validate, and manage REC transactions and credit transfers across various registries. • Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, compliance, and energy strategy teams. • Maintain high accuracy and consistency in standardized data entry and reporting across projects. Qualifications: • Solid understanding of renewable settlements, including RECs, vPPAs, and regulated vs. deregulated markets. • Proficiency in Purchase Order (PO) management, invoicing, and payment tracking. • Strong Excel skills, including data management and reporting. • 2–5 years of experience in renewable energy, energy analytics, or related fields. • Experience with Environmental Attribute Certificates and REC tracking systems. • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Energy, Environmental Science, or related field. • Exceptional attention to detail and comfort with repetitive data tasks in a fast-paced environment. Nice-to-Have Skills: Renewable developer background • - management, finances, rates, etc. • Tracking systems: Mrets, various registries • Salesforce Team Environment: • Join a collaborative 11-person global Energy Analytics team, including another contractor focused on data and settlement operations. • Work closely with the CaRE Analyst (primary external point of contact) and internal stakeholders to ensure data accuracy and compliance across the renewable portfolio.
