Rowe Price’s Distribution & Marketing Services – Individual Investor & Digital Technology organization are playing a key role in helping build the future of financial services, working hand-in-hand with business partners to build client experiences that are changing the way people invest. We want technologists with a new perspective who are passionate about solving business, data and technical challenges. You will build groundbreaking, next-generation applications for n-tier cloud architectures. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the team developing systems on our cloud-based infrastructure. In this role you will foster innovation as you build applications to provide business value solutions for our clients. You will be part of a collaborative team of curious and enthusiastic engineers who bring different perspectives to our projects working with AWS, Java, and Microservice technology. Responsibilities Lead significant areas of development within the development lifecycle. Contributing to the development of standard methodologies in your group. Contribute to code reviews and provide feedback on others’ designs/code. Participate in decisions regarding tactical vs. strategic trade-offs. Being accountable for technical debt in your own software. Assist and mentor more junior engineers. Qualifications Required: 5+ years of progressive software development experience including microservice development. Significant expertise designing, developing, deploying, and supporting Java backend solutions. Significant experience in AWS cloud technologies including ECS, EC2/Fargate, Lambda, SNS, SQS, S3, Dynamo, Application Load Balancers, CloudFront, CloudWatch, IAM, etc. Have written Unit tests and has familiarity with a variety of testing frameworks. Provides a clear and concise explanation of business strategy, technical concepts, designs or implementation to a non-technical audience. Having a product mindset from supporting a product versus development for a project. Able to quickly learn new technologies and stay abreast of industry trends. Comfortable working with a small, highly collaborative team. Not afraid to provide and receive input/feedback. Able to help support other developers utilizing our product in their own application use-cases. Can run with a task or set of tasks while consulting & informing team members on approach and progress. Ability to create easy to follow documentation in code as well as part of design and consumer usage collateral. Ability to troubleshoot own work as well as assist others with troubleshooting. Preferred: Hands on experience with Typescript/Node.js and Python. Experience with Open Telemetry, Apigee, HashiCorp Vault, Kafka, Postgres, and Splunk Applicants for employment in the US must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States (e.g., H1-B visa, F-1 visa (OPT), TN visa or any other non-immigrant work status) FINRA Requirements FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role. Base Salary Ranges Please review the job posting for the location of this specific opportunity. $121,000.00 - $206,000.00 for the location of: Maryland, Colorado, Washington and remote workers $133,000.00 - $227,000.00 for the location of: Washington, D.C. $151,000.00 - $258,000.00 for the location of: New York, California Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual’s relevant experience and skills for the role. Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance.
