This program provides IT services focused on building, securing, and operating the Department of Veteran Affairs LGY’s home loan product-line technology. The contract’s purpose is to modernize and sustain critical home loan technology systems that support LGY’s delivery of mortgage-related services to program stakeholders, to provide continuous delivery and security integration. Position Description: SES is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support cross-functional delivery teams responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex systems across federal IT modernization initiatives. This role provides technical leadership, ensures system reliability and scalability, and aligns engineering solutions with business and mission objectives in regulated environments. Design, develop, and maintain system architectures across applications, infrastructure, and platforms. Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams. Analyze system requirements and translate them into scalable, secure solutions. Ensure system performance, reliability, and availability through proactive monitoring and optimization. Collaborate with developers, DevOps, security, and stakeholders to align system design with business needs. Support integration of systems across environments and platforms. Develop and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams and system specifications. Participate in Agile delivery processes and continuous improvement initiatives. · 6+ years of experience in systems engineering, software engineering, or related roles. · Strong experience with system architecture, distributed systems, and cloud platforms. · Knowledge of programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, or similar). · Experience with infrastructure, networking, and system integration concepts. · Experience working in Agile environments. · Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. · Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, CISSP, or similar). · Experience supporting federal government contracts or regulated environments. · Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure. · Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines. · Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and secure system design. Preferred Skills · Experience supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) or other federal government clients. · Experience navigating VA (or other federal agency) technology mandates, compliance requirements, or ATO processes.
