Role Overview: As a Sodium Fire Design and Analysis Engineer at System One, you will play a crucial role in assessing and mitigating risks associated with sodium fires in nuclear systems. Your expertise will contribute to the design, analysis, and safety evaluation of sodium-cooled reactors and related components, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. What You'll Do: - You will conduct detailed fire hazard analyses specific to sodium fire scenarios in nuclear environments. - You will develop and validate models to predict fire behavior and impact on reactor safety. - You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate fire safety measures into reactor design. - You will prepare technical reports, safety documentation, and regulatory submissions. - You will review and interpret nuclear safety standards and guidelines related to sodium fire risks. - You will support incident investigations and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences. - You will participate in safety audits and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. - You will provide expert guidance and training to internal teams and stakeholders on sodium fire safety. What You Bring: - Minimum of 10 years of experience in the nuclear engineering field, with a focus on sodium fire safety. - Strong knowledge of nuclear reactor systems, especially sodium-cooled reactors. - Proficiency in fire modeling software and analytical tools relevant to fire safety engineering. - Experience with regulatory frameworks and compliance in the nuclear industry. - Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey technical information.
