Role Overview: As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer at System One, you will play a pivotal role in the development of advanced nuclear reactor technology. This position involves designing critical mechanical components and systems that ensure safety, efficiency, and reliability in nuclear applications. What You'll Do: - You will lead the mechanical design efforts for advanced nuclear reactor components, ensuring compliance with industry standards. - You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, project managers, and manufacturing specialists. - You will develop detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using CAD software. - You will perform design analysis and simulations to validate mechanical integrity and performance. - You will support prototype development and testing activities. - You will review and approve design documentation and specifications. - You will identify and implement design improvements to enhance system performance. - You will mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance. What You Bring: - Minimum of 7 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably in the nuclear or energy sector. - Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar tools. - Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes. - Experience with design validation techniques including FEA and thermal analysis. - Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience working on nuclear reactor systems or related energy technologies. - Familiarity with regulatory standards and compliance requirements in the nuclear industry. - Background in prototype testing and validation. - Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
