Role Overview: As a Senior Big Data Engineer at System One, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable big data infrastructure and pipelines. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality data solutions that support analytics and business intelligence initiatives. What You'll Do: - You will design and implement robust big data pipelines using technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka. - You will optimize data workflows to ensure high performance and reliability. - You will collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights. - You will maintain and enhance existing data infrastructure to support growing data volumes. - You will troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues promptly. - You will mentor junior engineers and contribute to best practices in data engineering. - You will participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards. - You will stay current with emerging big data technologies and recommend improvements. What You Bring: - Minimum of 5 years of experience in big data engineering or related fields. - Proficiency in big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and Hive. - Strong programming skills in Java, Scala, or Python. - Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure. - Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing. - Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes. - Knowledge of machine learning frameworks and data science workflows. - Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines. - Prior experience working in financial services or related industries.
