Role Overview: As a Senior Big Data Engineer at System One, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable big data infrastructure and pipelines. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality data solutions that support analytics and business intelligence initiatives. What You'll Do: - You will design, develop, and optimize large-scale data processing systems and pipelines. - You will collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and engineers to understand data requirements and deliver solutions. - You will ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all big data platforms. - You will troubleshoot and resolve performance issues in data processing workflows. - You will implement best practices for data storage, retrieval, and management. - You will mentor junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing. - You will stay current with emerging big data technologies and recommend improvements. - You will participate in architectural decisions and contribute to technical documentation. What You Bring: - 5+ years of experience in big data engineering or related fields. - Proficiency with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and Hive. - Strong programming skills in Java, Scala, or Python. - Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. - Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and database systems. - Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes. - Knowledge of machine learning frameworks and data science workflows. - Familiarity with real-time data processing and streaming analytics. - Certifications in big data technologies or cloud platforms.
