Newhouse School of Public Communications is looking for a part-time instructor to be section instructor for STC 207 Graphic Design for Strategic Communications, October 20- December 11, 2025, on Tuesdays, 6:30pm-8:00pm during the 8W2 Fall II 2025 (Online) semester (3 credits). Course Description: A graphic design production course providing communication students with an understanding of the elements of design theory and their implementation in corporate messaging, proposals, and aesthetic delivery of strategic communications. Students will learn how to incorporate basic principles in graphic design into projects that will enhance their ability to communicate with various individuals in the strategic communications marketplace. Projects will include (but are not limited to): pitch decks, explainer graphics, corporate identity, slideshows, websites, and personal brand documents. Qualifications • Master's or Doctoral degree preferred. • Significant teaching and/or professional experience in the field. Job Specific Qualifications Not Applicable Responsibilities • View the asynchronous content in advance of each weekly live session. • Conduct discussions for each week's live session based on direction from the coordinator of STC 207 • Be available to meet for these discussions on the online platform provided. • Follow guidance of coordinator on topics related to the asynchronous material, student questions and progress, assignments, and exams, and the introduction of timely topical news and information that may apply to course concepts, relevant case studies and articles. Additional responsibilities include: Meet all designated class periods. Maintain regularly scheduled office hours. Grade any assignments and exams in a timely manner based on instructions/rubrics provided. Submit completed mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations. Attend immersion sessions, if invited, when offered.
