Job Description: Role Summary/Purpose: This is a highly visible, strategic leadership role designed for a passionate and seasoned marketer with a proven ability to drive growth and transformation of Synchrony’s Auto business within the Home & Auto platform. You will lead the full spectrum of Auto marketing efforts including partner acquisition, cardholder engagement, and the Synchrony Car Care network (Car Care One) as well as co-leading certain initiatives including Auto Business Development and the Auto Leadership Summit. You will partner with the SVP, Auto General Manager to establish goal and objectives for the business as well as help to deliver on financial commitments to the Company. This role demands a skilled people leader with deep knowledge of the Synchrony marketing ecosystem, who inspires and develops high performing teams, a disciplined data-driven marketer who leverages consumer and partner insights to inform innovative strategies, and a strategic thought partner collaborating across functions and with senior leadership to chart the long-term growth trajectory of Auto. The role entails accelerating high-growth momentum of Auto including national and regional service providers (e.g., Discount Tire, Pep Boys), manufacturers/suppliers (e.g., Continental Tires), trade associations, and Oil & Gas partners (Chevron, P66). You will partner broadly across Synchrony (verticals, COEs, functional leadership) to deliver integrated and measurable growth plans that align tightly with business objectives. Key Responsibilities: Lead and develop the full Auto marketing organization fostering a culture grounded in collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Act as a strategic thought leader to Partners and BD Prospects, guiding the articulation and achievement of long-term growth targets supported by robust data and market insights. Grow Team adoption and execution of SYF marketing tactics and playbooks across full spectrum of distribution channels. Champion data-driven marketing by leveraging consumer and partner research to optimize network design, product features, and customer engagement strategies. Drive execution and continuous innovation of omnichannel marketing programs—including digital channels (web, SEM, display ads, mobile, social media) and traditional B2C and B2B marketing—to maximize acquisition and retention. Collaborate closely with the Auto General Manager and other cross functional teams to define network expansion strategies, and partner enrollment plans that drive commercial growth. Lead cross-functional, matrixed teams deliver seamless, high-impact marketing campaigns that accelerate network acceptance and cardholder activation. Identify and integrate emerging industry trends and voice-of-customer feedback to continuously evolve the product and service ecosystem. Oversee Auto marketing budget management and resource allocation to maximize effectiveness, ensuring alignment with financial and strategic goals. Maintain strict adherence to compliance, risk management, and enterprise protection protocols across all marketing initiatives. Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor’s degree preferred; alternatively, a high school diploma plus 14 years of marketing experience. Minimum 10 years of progressive sales and marketing experience with a demonstrated ability to integrate market research, client insights, and business priorities into cohesive, results-oriented marketing strategies. At least 3 years managing digital marketing channels with measurable success in driving customer acquisition, engagement, and retention across online, email, and mobile platforms. Minimum 5 years of proven people leadership experience, including hiring, coaching, and motivating teams to consistently achieve ambitious goals in a matrixed organizational environment. Strong analytical and data-driven mindset, comfortable using metrics and insights to inform decision-making and optimize marketing performance. Experience influencing and collaborating with senior leaders and cross-functional partners in complex environments. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Desired Characteristics: Broad knowledge of retailer partnerships Financial service experience, with co-branded/dual card expertise Auto Industry and / or Oil & Gas expertise Grade/Level: 15 The salary range for this position is 200,000.00 - 330,000.00 USD Annual. This position is also eligible for an Annual Incentive Plan target of 25% of salary and an Annual Equity target of 25% of salary. Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge. Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle. Eligibility Requirements: You must be 18 years or older You must have a high school diploma or equivalent You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act. New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
