Full Description

Cybercrime Investigator & Case Manager (Contract) We're looking for a Cybercrime Investigator & Case Manager to join our team on a remote, contract (1099) basis. This is a nationwide position with occasional travel required for specific cases, with all travel expenses paid for. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in law enforcement investigations and a strong background in cybersecurity. You'll be responsible for conducting thorough investigations into complex cybercrime cases and coordinating with various parties to ensure successful outcomes. Responsibilities • Lead and conduct detailed digital and physical investigations into a wide range of cybercrimes, including fraud, intellectual property theft, data breaches, and corporate espionage. • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned cases, coordinating with on-the-ground private investigators, and liaising with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. • Utilize your law enforcement experience to effectively collect, analyze, and preserve digital evidence, ensuring all findings are legally sound and admissible in court. • Prepare comprehensive and well-structured investigative reports and documentation to clearly present your findings to clients and legal teams. • Be available to travel for specific case requirements, such as conducting on-site interviews, collecting physical evidence, or attending legal proceedings. Requirements • Prior experience in law enforcement with a proven track record of investigating cybercrime or complex financial crimes. • Must hold a current Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail. • Strong written and verbal communication skills for creating reports and communicating with clients, legal counsel, and law enforcement. • Ability to work independently, manage multiple cases simultaneously, and maintain strict confidentiality. • Willingness to travel on an as-needed basis for case-related activities. Compensation & Employment • Salary: $85,000–$95,000 per year, depending on experience. • Employment Type: Contract (1099), with potential to transition to a full-time W2 employee in the future. • This is a contract position with no benefits.
